Liverpool club world cup

Liverpool beat Tottenham last week to win their sixth UEFA Champions League.

Hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar will now look forward to hosting UEFA champions Liverpool and six other continental champions for the two-week football festival later this year in December.

"Following the approval of a revamped Club World Cup with 24 teams. the Federation Internationale de Football Association council made a decision to award Qatar the right to host the next two editions of the tournament in its existing format in 2019 and 2020", Federation Internationale de Football Association said in a statement.

Two rather inventive spectators did catch the eye in the crowd with full-body suits fashioned to look like pieces of sandpaper. Gulbadin continued: "Every team, especially for us, is a tough team, so we are just waiting for our turn".

Members of the FIFA Council met in Paris this afternoon to vote on the host nation for the 2019 and 2020 Club World Cup tournaments.

The competition now features the club champions of the six continental federations plus a team from the host nation since it was first staged in its current form in 2005.

From 2021, it will be expanded to a 24-club competition held every four years. Their place was taken by runners-up Borussia Mönchengladbach.

When will Liverpool play in the CWC? To this day, many Boca fans want that 1978 edition to be rearranged. Three years later Joe Fagan's Liverpool were back in Tokyo for a second crack at the trophy but again couldn't quite deal with the South American game and lost by the minimum to Independiente.

However, this has been opposed by the European Club Association (ECA) which wrote to FIFA president Gianni Infantino in March to say that its members would not take part because there is no space in the worldwide calendar.
