Sarandos says the streaming giant will rethink their investment in Georgia if the state's recently passed abortion law goes into effect.

Sarandos's comments were first reported by Variety.

Some entertainment industry figures have cautioned against boycotting Georgia because of the economic toll it would take on ordinary workers and have instead backed other forms of protest.

Abrams are continuing projects in the state and are vowing to donate their salaries to the American Civil Liberties Union and abortion rights groups.

"Georgia is one of the world's top destinations for film production and communities across the state are seeing the benefits of welcoming the industry", said outgoing Governor Nathan Deal in a statement made in August past year. The law looks to forbid women from receiving an abortion after 6 weeks or right around the time a heartbeat is first detected on an ultrasound.
