Apple Announces New MacBook Pro With Improved Keyboard, 8-Core CPU

The 15-inch Mac Book Pro

Apple called this its "fastest Mac notebook ever". This means it will be the first time a MacBook Pro will be powered by an octa-core or eight-core processor.

Apple says the new Pro machines will start from £1,749 (13-inch) and £2,349 (15-inch) and are available today through apple.com/uk, the Apple Store app and in select Apple Stores.

"The eight-core processors are only available on the 15.4" models, but it can also be bought with six-core processors and Turbo Boost speeds of up to 5.0 GHz. There was a lot of speculation that the new MacBook Pro would replace the current 15-inch model, but that model just received an update.

As part of its mid-year refresh, Apple has swapped to slightly faster 9th Gen processors for its various notebooks. In fact, the non-Touch Bar models have remained unchanged since 2017. The base Touch Bar model has a 2.4 GHz quad-core 8th Gen Core i5 (boosts to 4.1 GHz), has Intel Iris Plus 655 graphics, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD.

US, Bahrain to Host Palestinian Economic Conference
Finance ministers, but not foreign ministers, will be invited along with delegations of business leaders. Palestinian officials will not attend the conference, Social Development Minister Ahmed Majdalani said.

Meanwhile, the 13-inch Touch Bar-equipped MacBook Pro is also getting upgraded CPUs. That's because nearly nothing else about the MacBook Pro is changing.

Apple knows that its butterfly keyboards have a problem.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro now features faster 6- and 8-core Intel Core processors, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar features faster quad-core processors.

In March, Apple apologized and said it was "aware that a small number of users are having issues with their third generation butterfly keyboard".

Threatening tornado outbreak, flash flooding doable Monday in Southern Plains
However, the atmosphere will begin to lose some of the ingredients that are needed to have widespread intense severe weather. Two to 4 inches of rain is expected to fall on already saturated ground across the Central Plains and Upper Midwest.

The only non-computing change coming to the MacBook Pro pertains to the keyboard, a beleaguered design with extremely shallow butterfly key switches that resulted in numerous complaints and a lawsuit.

The saga of Apple's MacBook Butterfly keyboards continues.

The top-end 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes with an updated Core i9 processor, with speeds up to 4.8 GHz.

The MacBook Pro keyboard features a butterfly mechanism that Apple claims provides four times more key stability than a traditional scissor mechanism. This week, the company is taking a large step toward addressing those problems for impacted users by expanding its fix programs. Whether this new tweak is the one that finally solves the problem, or if it won't be truly solved until this design is discontinued and fades into memory, remains to be seen.
