EPL: Liverpool turn to Brendan Rodgers to halt Man City

Rafa Benitez should leave Newcastle this summer and 'go home'- Guillem Balague

The Reds will be looking to former manager Brendan Rodgers to do them a favour when he takes his Leicester City side to the Etihad on Monday, with anything less than a win for the reigning champions leaving Liverpool in pole position going into the final game of the season.

Elsewhere, Rodgers only has only one injured player to concern himself with for the trip up to the Etihad Stadium.

A dramatic 3-2 win at Newcastle on Saturday took them back to the top of the Premier League table with a two-point advantage over Manchester City. "What I loved about Raheem was that, for a young boy, he knew what he wanted to be", Rodgers told a press conference. "They are so fast".

"I ask young players what is it that they want to achieve".

Rodgers has suggested that the fact that Leicester managed to overcome the Citizens earlier in the season could give them a boost.

Tourists have also been advised to leave the coastal temple town of Puri, a sacred destination for Hindu pilgrims. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has sent 50 teams across four coastal states, including Odisha.

Manchester City: A draw is pretty much the same thing as a loss here, as it would see Liverpool in sole possession in first place ahead of the final matchday of the season next Sunday.

Asked if he thought things were transpiring against his side before Origi's victor, Jurgen Klopp actually suggested he was a little nervous after his side went ahead during the eight minutes of added time. The question makes no sense, sorry, forget about it. I can not imagine that the Leicester players will come here for their holidays. Pep Guardiola's men are two points behind Liverpool at the summit and know very well that a result other than a win will be completely unacceptable.

Pep, however, is equally as convinced that they will show the same desire as he expects from Leicester. I can not imagine being at former clubs and not wanting to win.

"I don't have doubts about that".

"And in that moment there was an opportunity to go to Manchester City, where they had top-class players".

Kevin De Bruyne is out for the home side as he continues his injury-affected season at Manchester City.

City manager Guardiola is certain that Liverpool will not be thrown by their Champions League commitments as the domestic campaign draws to a close. They're exciting games to be involved in.

Yet, with City travelling to lowly Brighton on the final day of the season with the Seagulls now safe after Cardiff's relegation on Saturday, Leicester and Rodgers present their best chance of springing a surprise.

Rodgers has won five of his eight games since replacing Claude Puel in February and feels they can hurt City.

"We've got real speed in the team". "You've got to be super compact as a team and tight".
