Julian Assange's war of words with Ecuadorian government

Police bundle Wiki Leaks founder Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian embassy into a police van in London after he was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police and taken into custody Thursday

Sweden dropped its charges but Assange remained in the embassy because of potential USA charges related to WikiLeaks disclosures.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange repeatedly violated his asylum conditions and tried to use the Ecuadorian embassy in London as a centre for spying, Ecuador's President Lenin Moreno told Britain's Guardian newspaper. "Our decision is not arbitrary but is based on global law".

Mr Moreno, who became president in 2017, said his nation's previous government provided facilities within the embassy "to interfere in processes of other states".

Two far-left German MPs, Heike Hansel and Sevim Dagdelen of Die Linke, and a Spanish Green member of the European Parliament, Ana Miranda, had been due to meet their "friend" Assange in London's Ecuadoran embassy later on Monday.

But his lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, disputed the allegations when she appeared on Sky's On Sunday.

Oil rises 1 percent on tightening crude supply, upbeat economic data
Crude oil markets are tightening, the International Energy Agency said Thursday, Kallanish Energy reports. If this happened, any increase would be smaller than 1.2 million bpd, the source said.

A judge found him guilty of breaching his bail conditions and said he could face up to one year in jail, the U.K. Press Association reported.

He was arrested at the embassy on Thursday after Ecuador revoked his asylum, and is now also fighting a USA extradition warrant relating to the release by WikiLeaks of a huge cache of official documents.

Robinson said Assange would seek assurances from Sweden that he would not be sent on to America, saying: "That is the same assurance we were seeking in 2010 and the refusal to give that is why he sought asylum".

Supporters of Assange protest outside the British Embassy in Washington, DC.

Ecuadorian officials have claimed that Assange's actions deteriorated before his arrest on Thursday, and included putting excrement on walls, leaving soiled laundry in the bathroom, and not properly looking after his cat.

Unlucky 13th: Johnson accidentally hits ball off tee on practice swing
Matt Kuchar , who also appeared in the group, wouldn't let Johnson forget his gaffe. "Only if I've been drinking", Kisner said. After 13 holes of play, Johnson now sits at one-under for the day and one-over for the tournament.

The US has also requested his extradition, charging him with conspiracy to hack government computers.

The conspiracy charge against Assange seems meant to sidestep limits on prosecution potentially arising from the US Constitution's First Amendment guarantee of press freedom. More than 70 British legislators have urged Javid to give priority to a case involving rape allegations ahead of the USA request.

In the Guardian interview, Moreno charged that Assange "mistreated our officials [and] started to make legal threats even against who was helping him".

The three women were trying to see Assange in prison, but their application was "still pending".
