Sen. Warren's expected 2020 bid banking on populist appeal

Representative Joe Kennedy and Senator Elizabeth Warren

The Massachusetts lawmaker officially kicked off her campaign during a rally in Lawrence Saturday.

Immediately following her Lawrence announcement, the senator embarked on a seven-state organizing tour to drum up support for her campaign in New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina, Georgia, Nevada and California - must-win early primary states. She meant to spend Sunday in Iowa, where the leadoff caucuses will be the first test of candidates' viability.

She pointedly said of President Donald Trump, "The man in the White House is not the cause of what is broken". Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is officially a contender for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

Warren seemed to confirm rumors she would run last month, after forming an exploratory committee, and visiting multiple early primary states.

The official was not authorized to publicly discuss details about the announcement before the event and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Trump stokes Democrats' Virginia turmoil as scandal snares Republican
Shortly afterwards, a rightwing website published a claim that Fairfax sexually assaulted Tyson. That changed on Friday, with Democrats rushing to demand that Fairfax step down, too.

Warren, a former law professor at Harvard University specializing in bankruptcy and commercial law, was a key architect of Barack Obama-era regulations to protect consumers from predatory lenders. After Republicans blocked her from running the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency she helped create, she ran for the Senate in 2012 and unseated a GOP incumbent. Kamala Harris and U.S. Sen.

Still, Ms Warren must compete against other popular Democrats who will be able to raise substantial money.

Warren's announcement makes her the eighth Democrat officially running for president, joining the likes of Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, Senator Kamala Harris of California, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of NY, former Congressman John Delaney of Maryland, Spiritual author Marianne Williamson of Texas and businessman Andrew Yang of NY. "I will never give up on your children and their future", Warren said.

As political opponents, Trump and Warren first butted heads during the 2016 presidential run.

In New Hampshire Friday night, Senator Sherrod Brown noted that he has consistently won all corners of that ultimate swing state, Ohio.

This is something that Battle Royale competitor Fortnite does not have, yet it's the number one requested feature from players. EA CEO Andrew Wilson said the game's battle royale mode, called Firestorm , will launch next month.

Sounding very much like a single mother, Warren highlighted this as a major achievement - as her supporters smiled and laughed - and insisted that if she could do something like this, then anything is possible.

This week Warren battled against newly surfaced evidence of her claiming Native American heritage.

The expected launch will test whether the controversy is simply a Washington obsession or a substantive threat to her candidacy.

The storm over Warren's ancestry claim deepened when she sought to neutralise the attacks by releasing a DNA analysis in October, which said that she had a Native American ancestor "six - 10 generations ago".

Another threat could come from a fellow senator who has yet to announce his own plans for 2020: Sanders.
