USA singer Chris Brown was arrested in Paris on Monday with two other people on suspicion of rape, Closer magazine reported.

Chris Brown has been in legal trouble repeatedly over the last decade.

Police are still investigating the case, the Paris prosecutor's office said.

Citing two anonymous police officials, the Associated Press (via NBC News) reported the star was detained on Monday.

Besides Brown, two other people have reportedly been detained in connection to the allegations, including Brown's bodyguard.

Investigators have another two days to decide whether to let him go or file preliminary charges. If he is forced to stand trial, Brown would be required to surrender his passport and remain in Paris pending trial.

The singer has been accused of raping an unidentified 24-year-old woman at a hotel in Paris on January 15, 2019.

French news agency AFP also confirmed Brown's arrest after speaking to their security sources.

He pled guilty to felony assault and making criminal threats, and received five years' probation and community service. She alleged Brown forced himself on her and claimed his friend and bodyguard abused her after she was allegedly raped.

And in 2016, he was arrested, and subsequently released, when a woman called police claiming that he was threatening her with a gun at his home. "The offense is said to have taken place on the night of January, 15 2018", a source working with the prosecution opened up.

"A total of three men were arrested at Brown's hotel".
