Terminal at Houston airport closed amid government shutdown

Miami Airport

The TSA will begin relocating airport screening officers "on a national basis to meet staffing shortages that can not be addressed locally", the federal agency said in a tweet Monday.

Bush Airport tweeted that passengers will be routed to either Terminal C or E until further notice.

Airport officials said they plan to do the same on Sunday and Monday out of concerns they wouldn't have enough employees to operate all the security checkpoints. The figure remains a nonstarter for Democrats, leaving Congress at an impasse that triggered the partial shutdown - which has affected key parts of the federal government, including the departments of Homeland Security, Justice, Interior, State and Housing and Urban Development.

The Duchess did not, however, reveal the gender of the baby, explaining that they do not know themselves and want to keep it a surprise.

"We got here two hours early with the news broadcasting the TSA being such a big problem, but obviously here in small-town U.S., it's OK", she said.

TSA Administrator David Pekoske told CBS News, "It happens because the technology doesn't get everything all the time.either there's a technology issue, there's a procedural issue, or there's a training issue".

Airport officials, however, warn that the situation could get much worse if the shutdown isn't resolved soon.

The patrol says another crash involving two semitrailers in snowy conditions killed a 41-year-old driver from Mexico. "St. It moved from the Rockies into the Heartland Friday bringing blinding snow and treacherous driving to the region.

A Jacksonville Airport Authority spokeswoman said the shutdown has yet to have an effect at Jacksonville International Airport, but the airport always encourages passengers to arrive two hours early for their flights. Passengers are forced to go through a surrounding checkpoint and then walk or take the train to their gate in Terminal B on the secure side of the airport. According to Trahan, this is not significantly longer than a regular travel day.

It wasn't immediately clear when the terminal would reopen.

The shutdown is now on day 24. Too bad. It's being reported that one in every 13 TSA agents (there are 51,000 agents total), who have been ordered to work without pay since the shutdown began on December 22, are not showing up for work at all. The region was hit with snow over the weekend and TSA officers were staying home at rates "slightly higher than a normal snowstorm", he said. The airport ultimately received about 10.6 inches of snow, says Metropolitan Washington Airports spokesperson Rob Yingling.
