Saudi women to be informed of divorce by text, new law states

More women in Saudi Arabia are getting divorced than ever before. Bloomberg

Officials said the measure which is approved by the Justice Ministry is aimed at curbing seemingly rampant cases of men secretly ending marriages without informing their wives.

CNN reports that these text messages include the divorce certificate number and the name of the court where women can pick up the documentation. Women also could access information about their status online and visit a court to access their divorce paperwork.

This new regulation ensures that all Saudi women get their full rights when they're divorced.
