Instagram Pulls Tap-to-Advance Feed After a Brief Accidental Roll Out

Instagram update

It's unclear just how many people have the new feed, but the Independent reports that Instagram users around the world have received it.

The bug led to a small test being distributed widely, the company said.

The update now has users tap or swipe horizontally through their feed, versus vertically.

Many users took to Twitter to vent their feelings.

Israeli Planes Attack Targets Near Damascus
Syrian state media reported earlier in the evening downing several "hostile targets" near Damascus. Earlier Wednesday, Russia criticized the airstrikes, saying they had endangered civilian flights.

Instagram users were up in arms after the photo- and video-sharing platform dropped another seemingly unwanted and unannounced update.

If you saw your timeline orientation changed, the first thing you saw when opening up Instagram was a notice that read, "Introducing a New Way to Move Through Posts". "If you're still seeing it you can simply restart your app and you should be good to go". Additionally, he said the feed in the app should be back to normal. In June 2018, The Verge reported that Instagram had 1 billion users worldwide, an increase in 200 million from its census of 800 million the previous year.

Evidently the update was only meant to be tested in a small scale, instead of coming to a large portion of users.

It looked like the new feed would display one post at a time and include a scroll bar at the top to indicate how far you have swiped.

Turkey leader promised he'll 'eradicate' ISIS in Syria
Hammoud said they are now preparing to take on Manbij, adding that deploying to areas to the south will come later. Sean Robertson, said the execute order for withdrawal from Syria has been signed but provided no further details.

Reactions to Instagram's unpopular update came through thick and fast on Twitter.

'The Instagram feed is sideways now and I can't figure out how to post to my Story!' Lorenz tweeted Thursday morning.

Minutes after the update went through on many phones, some noted that their app reverted back to infinite scroll and the update appeared to have been removed.
