White House Doubles Down On Coal Despite New Climate Report

Federal climate report warns of more weather 'weirding'

Its central message: Climate change is real, it is intensifying, and it will devastate the way human beings live day-to-day if USA leaders at all levels don't take drastic action.

As California's catastrophic wildfires recede and people rebuild after two hurricanes, a massive new federal report warns that these types of disasters are worsening in the United States because of global warming.

Trump tweeted this week about the cold weather hitting the East including: "Brutal and Extended Cold Blast could shatter ALL RECORDS - Whatever happened to Global Warming?"

To this Sarmah fired back by saying, "I am 54 years younger than you".

"People are going to die if we don't start addressing climate change ASAP", Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Friday.

The President's views on man-made climate change has been rather consistent prior to and throughout his tenure.

"The full extent of climate change risks to interconnected systems, many of which span regional and national boundaries, is often greater than the sum of risks to individual sectors", the report said.

A report released last Friday by Donald Trump's administration said global warming is making US natural disasters worse.

"Adaptation and mitigation policies and programs that help individuals, communities, and states prepare for the risks of a changing climate reduce the number of injuries, illnesses and deaths from climate-related health outcomes", the report stated. "Our climate always changes and we see those ebb and flows through time", Sen.

"But asked about the study's conclusion that climate change would devastate the U.S. and world economy if left unchecked, he declared: "I don't believe it."'I don't believe it" as he left the White House for campaign stops in Mississippi.

Compiled by more than 300 scientists, the Fourth National Climate Assessment Volume II is a congressionally mandated report that spans more than 1,000 pages.

Rising temperatures, extreme heat, drought, wildfire on rangelands and heavy downpours are expected to increasingly challenge the quality and quantity of US crop yields, livestock health, price stability and rural livelihoods.

Green Car Reports respectfully reminds its readers that the scientific validity of climate change is not a topic for debate in our comments. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the newly elected USA congresswoman who's already pushing for better and more aggressive climate action, was among Democratic leaders demanding action in the wake of the report's release.

'I'm not a believer in man-made global warming. "And if we can't, that's fine", said Trump in June 2017.

The report estimates that around 92% of climate change can be attributed to the harmful effects of human actions.

Oil downside risk at four-year high on OPEC inaction fears
USA crude production has been rising, hitting a record in the week ended November 9, according to government data. The details would be discussed at the meeting of the organization scheduled for December 6 in Vienna .

Meanwhile, the report warned that even if major cuts are made to harmful greenhouse gases (GHGs) like carbon dioxide and methane, the damage will linger for years. Instead, the Trump administration dropped the report on the afternoon of Black Friday, a period when politicians infamously dump news that they don't want to garner attention.
