Trump intensifies his attacks on Chief Justice Roberts

WASHINGTONUS President Donald Trump and Chief Justice John Roberts clashed in an extraordinary public dispute over the independence of America's judiciary, with Roberts bluntly rebuking the president for denouncing a judge who rejected his migrant asylum policy as an "Obama judge".

Trump has taken aim at the court on Twitter and even directed some ire at Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts after the judge pushed back against the president.

"Sorry Chief Justice John Roberts, but you do indeed have 'Obama judges, ' and they have a much different point of view than the people who are charged with the safety of our country, " the president tweeted.

Although the Senate has been rushing to confirm many of President Trump's nominees to federal judgeships, a lot of them are new enough not to have made decisions in high-profile cases involving important presidential priorities. We need protection and security - these rulings are making our country unsafe!

"But I am thankful today that he - nearly alone among Republicans - stood up to President Trump and for an independent judiciary".

Redskins QB Alex Smith endures season ending injury
Redskins legend Joe Theismann soon weighed in - posting on Twitter that Smith's injury was reminiscent of his own in 1985. The Redskins traded for Smith in the offseason, sending a third-round pick and corner Kendall Fuller to Kansas City.

Where the president goes wrong is in assuming that "Obama judges" are automatically opposed to him and that "Trump judges" should (or will) be unfailingly loyal. It is out of control, has a terrible reputation, is overturned more than any Circuit in the Country, 79%, & is used to get an nearly guaranteed result.

In response, Roberts issued a rare criticism of the president. "They can meet really tremendous number of jobs in their purchases, and very importantly, they keep the oil price down".

Garamendi said, "Equally important is the way in which the president is once again seeing himself as a dictator, as above the law, that it's all about him".

Robert's comments come a day after Trump targeted the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and called the court a "disgrace" after a federal judge there issued a nationwide injunction against Trump's newly announced restrictions on asylum claims.

In the most recent example, Trump used Thanksgiving calls to the troops to vent on immigration and trade and to boast about his own success, injecting an overtly political tone into a previously non-partisan ritual. The ruling was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Police attack Papua New Guinea parliament in APEC pay dispute
China has recently turned its attention to the region with a raft of bilateral financing agreements to often distressed economies. Such a policy, believed to be aimed at hurting US President Donald Trump's political base, is misguided, Long said.

In Feburary 2017, when U.S. District Judge James L. Robart in Seattle blocked enforcement of Trump's hastily written and poorly conceived travel ban, Trump tweeted, "The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned". Roberts, a conservative judge appointed by former President George W. Bush, released a statement condemning the president's rhetoric as of late. "The 9th Circuit, everybody knows that it's totally out of control".

"In an extraordinary time, a chief justice, head of a coequal branch, product of divided sovereignty that the framers saw was essential, I think has a kind of moral obligation if he sees something, to say something, and I think that it's not bad for the system to have the chief justice weigh in on this because the president's control of our mindshare is so unbelievable", argued Meacham.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg also several times has made derogatory comments about Trump.

There is mounting evidence that some conservatives want to distance their judiciary achievements from Trump and his personal legacy, said Amanda Hollis-Brusky, a professor at Pomona College and the author of "Ideas With Consequences: The Federalist Society and the Conservative Counterrevolution".

Israel's Netanyahu makes 'last effort' to save government
The crisis was set into motion with Lieberman's resignation over the ceasefire, which he labelled "capitulating to terror". He then said to the heads of the parties making up his coalition: "At such a time, you don't overthrow a government".
