Brexit poll: how the United Kingdom would vote today

Ireland's Taoiseach Leo Varadkar

Britain is confident that it will "imminently" reach a deal with the European Union on its post-Brexit financial services trade with the bloc, British financial services minister John Glen said Monday.

The Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has today warned the United Kingdom that is can not alone decide when the Irish backstop ends.

The phone call followed a report by Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper that May's Brexit Minister Dominic Raab had privately demanded the right to pull Britain out of the backstop after three months.

The hardline stance, which has stunned Irish officials, is poised to delay the Brexit divorce deal by at least another week.

"I would also say, some of the people I know voted remain are now so bored and frustrated with this process they to would back a Brexit".

"This kid is Special" - Fans react to star attacker's performance vs Bournemouth
Meanwhile, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe insists United remain the favourites for Saturday's clash, despite his side's impressive start to the season.

The message quickly won endorsement from the EU's deputy Brexit negotiator, Sabine Weyand, who reacted to Coveney's comments by saying: "Still necessary to repeat this, it seems".

Mr Varadkar has also said it could be a few years before every house in Ireland has access to broadband.

Brussels offered to let the whole United Kingdom stay in a customs union indefinitely, but this is unpopular with Brexit supporters, who want the freedom to set new trade terms with other countries.

A deal on the Irish border to break the Brexit deadlock is not close, the EU's chief negotiator has said.

The sides have moved closer to agreeing on customs arrangements under the emergency Irish border fix, sources in Brussels have said, which would keep all of the United Kingdom in a customs arrangement with the European Union, as London has sought.

Search teams recover seats, wheels from Lion Air crash site
The accident worsens in any case, the reputation of insecurity in the aviation sector of indonesia which is growing rapidly. But hopes are fading of finding a large section of fuselage intact with bodies, easily retrievable, inside.

Karen Bradley, Northern Ireland's Secretary of State, last month provided assurances that the British government will not repudiate the "backstop" commitment in Brexit negotiations, contradicting one of her party's main negotiators.

"This position leaves Northern Ireland a rule taker from Brussels".

The Irish border has proved the biggest obstacle to a deal, with both sides vowing not to create a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland for fear of destabilising the peace accord that ended decades of deadly sectarian violence.

These are, in particular, coming up against a stumbling block as to how to avoid the return to a hard border between the province of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The backstop would kick in at the end of the transition period - which starts on 29 March and ends on 31 December 2020 - if a final deal on trade and other matters is agreed.
