FBI contacts Kavanaugh Yale classmate in its investigation

Senate Judiciary Committee

The FBI has contacted Deborah Ramirez in the course of its background investigation into allegations of sexual assault and other misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the Washington Post first reported Saturday.

But the FBI is moving quickly to contact people as part of the new background investigation, which President Donald Trump ordered on Friday under pressure from key members of his party.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh testifies during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on his nomination be an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, U.S., September 27, 2018.

Marco Silva: Arsenal's second goal was offside
He was about to take off Lacazette just before the French striker notched his superb second goal of the season in the 56th minute. Since his Premier League debut on February 3, only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (16) has scored more goals than Aubameyang's 12.

It will be limited in scope and be completed in less than one week.

In addition to Ford and Ramirez, another woman, Julie Swetnik, who said she knew Kavanaugh in high school, alleged in a sworn statement this week that Kavanaugh and Judge got teenage girls drunk at parties, where the girls were sexually assaulted, sometimes by groups of boys. Flake, in an apparent about-face, subsequently announced he would not vote to confirm Kavanaugh unless there was an FBI investigation into the sexual misconduct allegations against him. "His face was white and very uncomfortable saying "hello" back".

Lawyers for P.J. Smyth and Leland Ingham Keyser, two others who Ford said were in the house when she was attacked, have said their clients are willing to cooperate "fully" with the FBI's investigation.

Slight risk for severe weather this Tuesday evening
The timing of these storms is a good thing, as their arrival earlier in the day should spare us from widespread severe weather. A stronger cold front will arrive overnight and eventually bring an end to the rain by midday tomorrow.

"We can confirm the FBI has reached out to interview Ms. Ramirez, and she has agreed to cooperate with their investigation", Ramirez's attorney, John Clune, said in a statement. Democrats and Christine Blasey Ford have repeatedly demanded such an investigation. Ford could also not recall where or when she was molested. Evidence of any substance abuse problems could color a claimant's accusation, but the FBI notably does not make any conclusions about the credibility or significance of an allegation in a background investigation report.

"I decided I would vote against Judge Kavanaugh based on his legal theories and his jurisprudence before Dr. Ford's disturbing allegations ever came forward", Coons said. "They would put that in the 302", said Chris Swecker, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation assistant director, referring to the form in which agents will memorialize their interviews. The FBI may have better luck.

"You're going to be dealing on fading memories, you're going to be dealing on neighborhood canvasses where the accuser is not sure where that neighborhood was".
