China's Foreign Minister rejects claim of Chinese meddling in upcoming USA election

President Donald Trump shakes hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the United Nat

The United States and China are embroiled in a trade war, sparked by Trump's accusations that China has long sought to steal USA intellectual property, limit access to its own market and unfairly subsidize state-owned companies.

President Trump on Wednesday accused the Chinese government of actively trying to interfere in the midterm elections.

"They do not want me or us to win because I am the first president ever to challenge China on trade", he added.

"He may not be a friend of mine anymore but I think he probably respects me", said the president, who said the USA economy was easily weathering the impact of the trade dispute. We are winning on every level.

I think, and I say this objectively, that the American-Israeli alliance has never been stronger.

Trump is addressing a roomful of hundreds of reporters from US and global media organizations in a sweltering hotel ballroom.

The president then went on to complain that China's retaliatory tariffs were targeting his supporters.

An editorial published by the state-run, English-language China Daily, China claimed the Trump administration had worsened the deadlock by selling military parts to Taiwan, viewed by Beijing as Chinese territory.

The allegations have dogged his presidency and have given rise to an investigation by U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller into potential collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign, which Trump rejects.

Trump made the charged claim with members of the Chinese delegation, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi, sitting three seats down. "That's what I think works best".

Third, this is the first time that we meet after the American Embassy has been moved to Jerusalem. And so obviously they have to start you know we have to make a fair deal. "That was not laughing at me".

Trump's backing of a two-state solution - one state for Israelis and another for Palestinians - is the most explicit support his administration has given for the idea.

Rosenstein to meet Pres. Trump Thursday as job hangs in balance
Sanders also wouldn't say that the president has confidence in Rosenstein but only that he has "confidence in the system". General Assembly, told reporters he would meet with Rosenstein on Thursday when he returns to Washington .

"They were in big big trouble", he said.

And fourth, and last, I want to say how much I appreciate your robust defense of Israel's right of self-defense, which you have just expressed.

His boast elicited laughter from the audience.

China has vowed to retaliate with duties on $60 billion in USA goods, but since the country only imports a total of $130 billion, its ability to hit back with matching tariffs is limited.

Asked if he could provide evidence of Chinese attempts to interfere in the mid-term elections, the president argued there is evidence but that his relationship with China's President Xi Jinping remains friendly. "Yeah, I can't tell you now, but it came - it didn't come out of nowhere, that I can tell you", he told a press conference.

The Trump administration says China is stepping up covert and overt activities to stifle free speech, punish those who support the president's tough trade stance against China and interfere in the United States political system. The official said China is hurting farmers and workers in states and districts that voted for Trump. They've actually admitted that they're going after farmers. "I'm happy if they're happy".

"We don't want them to meddle or interfere in our election".

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to offer additional details about China's election interference efforts, including how they differed from those employed by Russian Federation, on Wednesday. Mattis said this and other problems with China are being "sorted out".

President Donald Trump waded into thorny Middle East politics while at the United Nations on Wednesday, endorsing the two-state solution to bring an end the decades-long conflict between Israel and the Palestinians while poised to denounce the dangers posed by Iran.

Chinese officials consequently canceled upcoming trade talks between the two countries, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

"I'm very happy with the one that both parties like".
