'60 Minutes' Chief Fager Fired From CBS After Violating Policy

'60 Minutes' executive producer Jeff Fager out at CBS

- CBS This Morning (@CBSThisMorning)"The fundamentals of reporting include asking questions of those we cover, and that's exactly what we were doing", CBS News' @JerickaDuncan says after Jeff Fager sent her text messages with a warning over the network's coverage of sexual harassment accusations against him.

He said Mr Fager had "violated company policy", without elaborating on how.

After Duncan reported on the text, anchor Jeff Glor told her that Fager's message was "unacceptable" and that "the entire CBS News team" supports her.

Fager said in a statement that he was sacked because of the text message. "There are people who lost their jobs trying to harm me and if you pass on these damaging claims without your own reporting to back them up that will become a serious problem". Farrow's follow-up story, published on Sunday, also included a new allegation against Fager.

How Is Hurricane Florence Affecting You?
A storm with sustained winds of at least 111 miles per hour classifies as a Category 3 major hurricane, according to the NHC. Florence was expected to build into potentially catastrophic Category 5 hurricane today as it closed in on North and SC .

A representative for Fager said he had no further comment on Wednesday night.

"I'm happy CBS too the action it did", said Gilbert about Fager's dismissal, with Underwood adding, "It is great that CBS took swift and clear action".

The long-time producer of the CBS News show 60 minutes, Jeff Fager, is leaving his job "immediately" amid claims that he sexually harassed colleagues.

Moonves stepped down as chairman and CEO of CBS that day, but the board is still waiting for its internal probe to wrap up before deciding if he can be fired for cause and denied a payout.

Former Pak PM Nawaz Sharif’s Wife Kulsoom Passes Away in London
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has also expressed grief over the death of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and prayed for the departed soul. Begum Kulsoom served as first lady of Pakistan for three non-consecutive terms from 1990-1993, 1997-1999 and 2013-2017.

"It's unfortunate", Kroft said, "and everything about this situation saddens me".

Perhaps not, but it's impossible to isolate these two things: Duncan received this message of arrogance and entitlement - indeed, a threat - because she wanted to know whether Fager really did view company functions as feel-copping expeditions. CBS News released a statement vaguely explaining why they parted ways with him after decades with 60 Minutes. He succeeded founding executive producer Don Hewitt in 2004, and has kept it the most influential news programs on television.

"Despite Charlie's important journalistic contribution to our news division, there is absolutely nothing more important, in this or any organization, than ensuring a safe, professional workplace - a supportive environment where people feel they can do their best work", Rhodes said in a memo previous year.

Fager was ousted from CBS yesterday amid claims of his misconduct and creation of a sexist working environment.

Sweden election results: Sweden Democrats make huge gains
That could prove fatal for the Alliance, with the Liberal and Centre parties repeatedly ruling out a deal with the far right. The nationalist Sweden Democrats (SD) have won about 18 percent of the vote, up from 12.9 percent in the previous election.

Mr Fager, 63, called the claims "false", and said they "do not stand up to editorial scrutiny". Though she was working under what she describes as "the largest writing and producing contract in the history of CBS", reportedly estimated to be $45 million, the network president would not allow a single pilot of hers to be produced for seven years.
