Ayanna Pressley wins Democratic primary- will become first Black congresswoman in MA

Pressley, a Democrat, beat the incumbent representative Michael Capuano. She is now seeking the Democratic nomination for the MA 7th Congressional District and was the first woman of color elected to the Boston City Council in its 100-year history.

On Tuesday night, Pressley said that the conditions that made the 7th District - the state's only majority nonwhite district, which runs from Milton through most of Boston and up to Chelsea, Everett, Randolph, Somerville, and part of Cambridge - one of the most unequal in the country were "cemented through policies long before [Trump] ever descended the escalator at Trump Tower". From Andrew Gillum in Florida to Beto O'Rourke in Texas, the results suggest a shift towards a bolder, progressive agenda in stark contrast - and a reaction to - the managerialism of Hillary Clinton's last campaign.

Warren thanked Capuano for his decades of public service Tuesday night and said she was looking forward to working with Pressley in Washington, D.C.

Pressley hasn't accepted donations from corporate political action committees in her campaign. They moved to Brooklyn, and Pressley attended Boston University from 1992 to 1994, but left school to work full time at a hotel to support her mother.

Manchester City 2 Newcastle United 1: Walker blasts through Benitez's wall
Aguero, who scored eight goals in City's last two home games against Newcastle , was held silent on Saturday. Huddersfield had a net spend of £23million.

Pressley, 44, is a Chicago native, former community organizer, and former political aide who worked for Democrats such as Senator John Kerry. The comparisons ended there, however, as Capuano is already very progressive on various issues, such as Medicare for all.

A WBUR poll in early August found Capuano leading by 13 points.

Pressley has bristled at the notion that race was a defining issue in her campaign.

A Pressley campaign insider, meanwhile, posted a video showing the candidate the moment she learned she'd won.

New Jersey couple must turn over funds they raised for homeless man
The homeless man from Philadelphia who gave a woman his last $20 last fall so she could fill up her gas tank is now suing her. Mr Bobbitt's lawsuit contends the couple committed fraud by taking money from the fundraising campaign for themselves.

Pressley has already broken ground, being the first woman of color to be elected to the city council in its over 100-year-old history back in 2009. She recently earned the endorsement of the Boston Globe.

There is no Republican challenger in the November general election.

Pressley lives in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston with her husband, Conan Harris, and stepdaughter. "And when I would walk into that voting booth with her and she would pull that curtain, I would stand just a little bit taller". "America is going to be OK", Capuano said in his concession speech.
