Rockets' Ryan Anderson dealt to Suns

Houston Rockets trade Ryan Anderson, De'Anthony Melton to Phoenix Suns

He signed a four-year, $80 million deal to play for the Rockets in 2016.

The Suns will receive power forward Ryan Anderson and rookie guard De'Anthony Melton, the 46th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. On Friday however, Wojnarowski reported that Anderson agreed to reduce the guarantee on his 2019-20 salary to $15.6 million - which only applies if he is waived.

Melton was selected by the Rockets in the second round of the 2018 National Basketball Association draft. The 26-year-old missed last season because of a torn ACL.

Last season, Anderson averaged 9.3 points and five rebounds per game.

During his second season with the Suns, the 21-year-old Chriss averaged 7.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 72 games.

While the Rockets won't be getting that starting-caliber point guard, their hope is he'll be a serviceable backup in limited minutes.
