Australian lawmaker calls for ‘final solution’ to end Muslim immigration

Nazi phrase ‘final solution’ used by Katter MP Fraser Anning in ‘racist’ speech

Senator Fraser Anning of the right-wing Katter's Australian Party (KAP) found himself in hot water over his inflammatory anti-Muslim maiden speech he delivered in the parliament.

Anning called for a plebiscite to allow Australians to decide whether they want non-English speaking immigrants from the third-world and whether they want Muslims to enter the country.

Her joining coincided with the row sparked by Senator Fraser Anning who has sought a national vote on whether to ban Muslim migration.

"Labor frontbencher Chris Bowen said the use of the term 'final solution", which has been historically associated with the Nazi plan in World War II for killing millions of Jews, was "utterly unacceptable".

"We as a nation are entitled to insist that those who are allowed to come here predominantly reflect the historic European-Christian composition of Australian society", Anning, formerly of the populist One Nation Party and now with the Katter Australian Party, told the upper house Senate late on Tuesday.

In an interview with BBC, she shared that she will use her new role to achieve a "positive future for Australia where we are stronger for our diversity".

Pauline Hanson, who leads the anti-Islam, anti-immigration One Nation Party, said Anning went overboard. "Where first-generation Australians can join First Australians and those Australians whose families have lived here for more than 100 years and all work together to make our great country an even better country". He pointed to the "African gangs" controversy in Melbourne, which he said had been fuelled by Mr Turnbull and particularly by Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton.

He claimed that "it was a magnificent speech, solid gold" and that "90 per cent of Australia have been waiting for someone to say it and believe it".

"You have to be pretty outrageous to be condemned by everybody in the Australian parliament, but Senator Anning has managed to do just this", he said.

Tesla forms three-member panel to look at any Musk deal
Musk's tweets announcing his intentions to take the company private have prompted a backlash from some investors . Musk said on Monday he was in talks with a Saudi sovereign fund for taking the electric auto maker private.

"Absolutely, 1000%, I support everything he said", Katter told reporters during a news conference in the northern city of Cairns Wednesday.

After senior Labor frontbenchers Tony Burke and Chris Bowen attacked the speech, Senator Anning responded by saying people on the left were trying to shut down debate on immigration. "That has nothing to do with the 'Final Solution.' The thought police got onto that". "It means something that all of us here stand up against this racism, stand up against this hatred and stand up against the disgraceful use of that neo-Nazi, white supremacist terminology".

"Senator Cormann, like others, followed usual Senate practice after every first speech", she said. "But unfortunately if you have a jar of jelly beans and three of them are poisonous, you're not going to try any of them", he told Alan Jones of radio 2GB, while referring to Muslims.

If Senator Anning really wants to learn about the value of multicultural Australia, he knows where to find me.
