Passenger Films As Jet Crashes After Takeoff In Mexico

Aeromexico plane carrying 101 people crashes in northern Mexico

An Aeromexico flight crashed on takeoff during a heavy hail storm in northern Mexico, engulfing the plane in flames and injuring 97 people, officials said Tuesday.

Of the 101 passengers and crew aboard Flight 2431, all have survived, with some passengers even being able to physically walk away from the crash.

"We confirm that there were no fatalities in the accident of flight AM2431", Durango Governor Jose Aispuro said via Twitter.

The airport has been closed while officials attend to the wreckage.

Crews battling deadly California wildfire slowed by returning winds
Bulldozer operators and their machines build containment lines while battling the River fire in Lakeport, California on July 31. The fire is progressing into the town of Lewiston, Cal Fire spokesman Gabe Lauderdale said in a press video Wednesday morning.

The airline said the plane was an Embraer 190 with a capacity of 100 passengers, flying between Durango and Mexico City.

The federal Transport Department office said in a press statement that the airplane "suffered an accident moments after takeoff", but gave no information on the possible cause. The state's Secretariat of Health confirmed that at least 18 people were taken to a local hospital, where there was no word on their conditions.

The plane tried to take off in the hail storm but was forced into an emergency landing in a field around 10 kilometers (six miles) from the Durango airport.

Aispuro Torres told reporters the plane was attempting to abort takeoff due to bad weather, but was unable to and crashed at the end of the runway.

Soon after, they were able to get DNA, which led them to the definitive conclusion that it was indeed a hybrid of the two species. The hybrid named Keikaimalu still lives at the marine mammal park, where she helps teach children about genetics.

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. He said the plane skidded into a field in a horizontal position, which allowed escape slides to activate so all passengers and crew could escape before the plane burst into flames. Durango Governor Jos Rosas Aispuro also said a gust of wind rocked the plane before it plunged suddenly, citing air traffic control at the airport.

The United States is going after Iran in a rather smart fashion despite the childish rhetoric being traded on social media. In March 2003, the Iranians sent a comprehensive negotiation proposal to the George W.
