Trump marks Kelly's one-year mark as departure rumors swirl

Donald Trump John Kelly

A retired Marine general, Kelly replaced Reince Priebus in the role.

In April, Kelly shot down an NBC News report that cited White House officials saying he called Trump an "idiot" in front of aides and had portrayed himself as a "savior" who rescued the country from disaster.

Kelly, who hit his one-year mark in the White House on Monday, had been expected to step aside as early as this summer.

Trump says Attorney-General should stop Mueller probe 'right now'
He says agents spotted Manafort inside after they entered. "A man in this courtroom believed the law did not apply to him". Both men were top officials in Trump's campaign, but that is not part of the criminal case against Manafort in this trial.

The news came after Kelly marked his first anniversary as chief of staff amid a swirl of rumors about his potentially imminent departure.

Chafing at Kelly's efforts to impose order, Trump has increasingly followed his own counsel and added more like-minded aides to his staff.

However, the President applauded Kelly on Monday, tweeting a photo of the pair together. "He became my chief of staff, Gen. Kelly", Trump said in the Oval Office.

Will Grace Mugabe face extradition now that immunity has been set aside?
The judge said Nkoana-Mashabane's decision to "recognise immunity" was an error in law that was "fundamental and fatal". Spies said if the NPA failed to take action, Afriforum would start proceedings against Grace Mugabe.

Kelly, who is said to have set a goal of lasting one year in the job, has been rumored to be on the way out of the White House. The Washington Post and CNN, also citing unnamed officials, confirmed the news. While he has not backed away from his assertion that the position is "the hardest job" he'll ever have, Kelly has signaled a willingness to forge ahead in the postition even with diminished clout. It's a one-man show and no one is getting in the way of Trump's delusion that he's nailing it on a daily basis. If that's true, it's a very twisted way for a place as important as the White House to be run.

"Look, at some point, things happen but I will tell you. we have a very good relationship".
