Judge Grants Temporary Restraining Order Against Making 3-D Guns

Mudoch Pizgatti right of Plano uses the Ghost Gunner CNC machine by Defense Distributed to manufacture a lower receiver for an AR-15 gun at a rally to support HB195 the open carry bill at the Capitol on Tuesday

A U.S. judge has temporarily blocked the online publication of blueprints for 3D-printed firearms, in a last-ditch effort to stop a settlement President Donald Trump's administration had reached with the company releasing the digital documents.

The restraining order from U.S. District Judge Robert Lasnik in Seattle puts that plan on hold for now. Eight states filed suit Monday, July 30, 2018, against the Trump administration over its decision to allow a Texas company to publish downloadable blueprints for a 3D-printed gun, contending the hard-to-trace plastic weapons are a boon to terrorists and criminals and threaten public safety. "In the United States, it's now illegal to own or make a wholly plastic gun of any kind, including those made on a 3D printer". The state contends that Defense Distributed, an internet company that has posted designs for 3D-printed guns on their website, should not be allowed to post the plans because they would violate the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which regulates the export of defense materials, services, and technical data.

The legal battle all began in 2013, with the release of a gun called "The Liberator", which has already been downloaded a million times. They're seeking to block the federal government's settlement with the company that makes the plans available online.

"Part of that policy - you are not allowed to print anything illegal or that could hurt others or considered obscene", said Cinnamon McCulley, spokeswoman for the Vestavia Hills Library. Some gun rights groups say the technology is expensive, the guns are unreliable and the threat is being overblown. The US Supreme Court had declined to take up his case.

Apple becomes world's 1st publicly traded trillion-dollar company
During the day, the share price of the iPhone maker jumped by 2.8% to $207.05, passing the $1tn (£762bn) mark in NY trading. Another company, Saudi Arabian Oil Co. could eclipse Apple if it goes through with plans for an initial public offering.

Spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the State Department got involved in the issue because the online plans can be accessed worldwide.

"I am looking into 3-D Plastic Guns being sold to the public", the president said.

Evanchick said authorities want to keep firearms out of the hands of people who legally should not have them, expressing concerns that the weapons wouldn't have serial numbers.

"Mr. Wilson scrupulously obeys all court orders", Blackman said, adding that he was awaiting the judge's written order before deciding on further legal action.

Police on their toes as Kiki dancers hit the roads
If you're not familiar, it's where someone gets out of their vehicle and dances in the street to DRAKE's " In My Feelings ". In India, social media lovers have jumped on the bandwagon and out of cars or autos to be part of the challenge.

"Donald Trump will be totally responsible for every downloadable, plastic AR-15 that will be roaming the streets of our country if he does not act today", said Sen.

On Monday, 21 state attorneys general signed a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, urging them to withdraw from the settlement agreement.

A Texas company called Defense Distributed is now fighting a legal battle over publication of plans which would allow gun lovers to print out firearms including a replica of the notorious AR-15 assault rifle, which has been used in a number of mass shootings. "Already spoke to the NRA, doesn't seem to make sense".

"There is a possibility of irreparable harm because of the way these guns can be made", Judge Lasnik said ahead of the plans' scheduled nationwide release on Wednesday. Wilson sued in 2015, claiming the order infringed his constitutional rights.
