Man busted for kidnapping shark has long rap sheet

Trio of thieves put shark in baby stroller, roll it out of the San Antonio Aquarium

A horn shark has been returned to its proper home after it was stolen in a baby stroller by three suspects at San Antonio Aquarium.

Investigators in the San Antonio suburb of Leon Valley say the person in custody was charged Monday night. At this time there is no known motive for why they chose to steal a shark.

According to a statement posted on Facebook with surveillance-video footage, the aquarium said the suspects took the shark into one of their filter rooms, where they emptied a bucket full of bleach solution into a display's filtration system, posing potential risks for the other animals. "I'm really proud of her and I'm so overjoyed to have her back", said San Antonio Aquarium Assistant Husbandry Director Jamie Shank.

Video of the aqua-themed heist was released by the aquarium on Monday.

Top US official meets Afghan Taliban in Qatar
The United States and Afghanistan are also trying to arrange a second ceasefire with the Taliban over Eidul Azha. The strategy depends on the Afghan government's willingness to pull back its own forces.

As of Monday night, the stolen gray horn shark, which the aquarium has estimated to be worth $2,000, has been found alive.

A man allegedly posted a picture of a horn shark online under the caption "selling a horn shark, flawless for next shark week".

Walking back toward the exhibit, a man then put the bucket into the lower portion of a baby stroller. One man used a net to remove Ms. Helen from her large, open pool exhibit.

Early Tuesday, an aquarium representative said that its founder, Ammon Covino, was grateful to news outlets for spreading the video, saying the intense public interest had helped to recover the shark.

Law enforcement is working with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to investigate where the other marine animals in the man's home tanks came from.

Leon Valley Police Chief Joseph Salvaggio told KSAT: 'The individual obviously had some knowledge on how to deal with these types of animals, we said that from the very beginning, otherwise why take it?

Salvaggio said that the man tried to show police a doctored receipt for the shark, but, Salvaggio said they immediately noticed the receipt was fraudulent.
