George Clooney injured in Italian scooter crash

George Clooney has been injured after a motorcyle he was riding collided with a pickup truck in Sardinia, Italian media reports.

According to a report from TMZ, Clooney became a human projectile and flew 20 feet in the air and over the vehicle he hit.

The Italian Carabinieri said the crash happened at 8.15am on Tuesday on State Road 125 from Puntaldia towards Olbia.

According to local reports, Clooney was thrown off his scooter after colliding with a auto that failed to "respect the right of way". Clooney was taken to the hospital in and released, hospital officials said.

Clooney is a Northern Kentucky native.

The accident took place early on Tuesday morning and the "Ocean's 11" actor was transported to hospital from the scene, reports HuffPost Italia. He is recovering at home and will be fine, ' one rep told E! The car's driver assisted George after the crash and reportedly called an ambulance, according to NBC.
