President Trump taunted his skeptics Sunday as he prepared to name his second nominee to the Supreme Court, tweeting a highlight reel of politicians and celebrities predicting he couldn't win the presidency.

They are Brett Kavanaugh, a former adviser to George W. Bush; Raymond Kethledge, a strict interpreter of the US Constitution; Amy Coney Barrett, a devout Catholic and social conservative; and Thomas Hardiman, a staunch gun rights advocate.

Kethledge, like Kavanaugh, is a former Kennedy clerk.

President Trump, after less than two weeks of deliberations, is set to announce tonight his nominee to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, a choice that could well affect the court, and American jurisprudence, for a generation.

All the major broadcast and cable news networks will air the announcement live. The White House hopes Kyl's close ties to Senate Republicans will help smooth the path to confirmation. The court could also be called upon to render judgment on issues of personal significance to Trump and his administration including matters arising from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing Russia-related investigation and several civil lawsuits pending against Trump.

Trump to Unveil Court Pick Monday
Trump will announce his nominee for the seat in a characteristic display of political braggadocio on primetime TV on Monday night. And analysts say Trump's latest pick for the court could provide the fifth vote needed to rescind Roe v.

And Democrats can not even be sure of holding their line against Trump's pick.

Trump's success in confirming conservative judges, as well as a Supreme Court justice, has cheered Republicans amid concerns about his limited policy achievements and chaotic management style. But almost all Senate Democrats and many Democratic voters are expected to oppose Trump's nominee.

In the coming year the court might have to consider Trump's powers and rights in the investigation into links between his presidential campaign and Russian Federation, and whether he sought to obstruct that investigation. Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., declared "all Republicans should embrace" the reported candidates for Supreme Court justice under consideration by President Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump will reveal the nomination at 9 p.m.at the White House but told reporters on his way back to Washington from a weekend at his New Jersey golf club that he hadn't yet decided.

TV, radio personality Ed Schultz dies at 64
Fargo ABC affiliate WDAY-TV broke the news Thursday, citing sources who say Schultz died of natural causes. Schultz's political views shifted in 2000, at which point he began identifying as a Democrat.

"This president has been more involved and more transparent than any other president in modern history", he said on "America's Newsroom" Monday, noting that Trump was the first president to release a list of potential nominees. An official said Thursday that Trump had completed his scheduled interviews for potential nominees.

If as expected Trump nominates someone firmly to the right, conservatives could dominate the court for years. Kelly Ayotte served as the "sherpa" for Justice Neil Gorsuch in 2017.

Current position: Barrett was confirmed by the Senate to a lifetime appointment on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals this past October.

Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) questions Barrett on her Catholic faith and whether it would influence her decisions on the federal appeals court in her Senate confirmation hearing, September 6, 2017.

"I'm very confident with this president's enthusiasm and with Leader McConnell's enthusiasm that they can get anybody confirmed", Mr. Leo said on ABC's "This Week".

Putin and Trump can discuss 'all other issues' except Crimea, Kremlin says
Putin is known as a shrewd negotiator who some officials worry could exploit such a session and extract concessions from Trump. The president has repeatedly questioned the actions of the FBI in connection with their investigation of Clinton's email use.
