Giuliani says he's not anxious about Manafort or Cohen flipping

James Comey

Giuliani, a former federal prosecutor, was asked on ABC whether Trump's repeated attacks on Mueller and his team did not make it "seem as though he has something to hide".

Cohen, President Donald Trump's longtime personal lawyer who is under investigation by federal prosecutors in NY, said in his Twitter post Sunday, July 1, that he sat down for an interview with ABC News and his "silence is broken".

Giuliani made the television rounds Sunday morning, appearing on three different programs, as speculation grew louder last week that Cohen was inching closer toward facing criminal charges and possibly working out a deal with prosecutors.

As for Giuliani's request that Mueller present evidence of Trump committing a crime before an interview, McCarthy said he's "quite right to go there".

" Zero. None", Giuliani said. "As long as he tells the truth, we're home free".

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents raided Cohen's home, office and hotel room in NY in April as part of a probe into his business dealings.

Bloomberg reported that prosecutors for Mueller asked U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson to stop Manafort from arguing that the special counsel targeted him for "vindictive reasons". "I put family and country first".

Mr. Giuliani, who joined Mr. Trump's legal team earlier this year, dismissed those concerns, saying there is no indication that the president is involved in the investigation into Mr. Cohen.

"If he wants to cooperate, I think it's great", Giuliani said.

He also said Mr. Trump believes Mr. Cohen should cooperate with federal investigators.

Third seed Marin Cilic let a two-set lead slip as he was knocked out in the second round of Wimbledon by Argentina's Guido Pella. The Swiss ace needed just over an hour and a half to book a fourth-round spot by beating the big-serving German 6-3 7-5 6-2.

Cohen was Trump's self-described fixer and a key player in the Trump Organization for more than a decade, regularly berating reporters and threatening lawsuits against anyone who posed a challenge to his boss. "Sorry, I don't see Michael doing that despite the terrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!"

Comey's firing in May 2017 helped set in motion the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller, and one-on-one conversations with Trump that Comey documented in a series of memos helped form the basis of Mueller's inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice. "We can't find an incriminating anything", Giuliani replied. What we're asking them for is: Is this the witch hunt that a lot of people think it is? "They have to give us factual basis leading to some suspicion of a crime".

Wehle told MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle on Monday that it would be "impossible" for Mueller to agree to Giuliani's demands.

Mueller has already filed at least 23 indictments as part of the special counsel probe and five defendants have pleaded guilty, although none of the indictments directly involve wrongdoing by President Trump.
