Joe Jackson, father and music manager of the Jackson 5, has died at age 89 a source close to the family tells CNN.

Last week it was reported that Joe Jackson was hospitalized in Las Vegas due to effects of terminal pancreatic cancer.

Family sources confirmed to TMZ that Joe Jackson died at 3:30 a.m.

Joe was married to wife Katherine for 69 years and she was reportedly by his side in his final days.

Co-executors of the estate, John Branca and John McClain, issued a statement to The Blast detailing their newfound relationship with Joe Jackson in the years before his death.

He referenced that toughness recently when he shared some advice for grandson Blanket Jackson in a heartfelt video: "Be like me: Be tough, in a good way, and you'll live a long time".
