VP Pence's Brother Wins Indiana US House Primary

U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly campaigns at a polling place in Indianapolis Indiana

WISH-TV's Eric Feldman was at U.S. Rep. Luke Messer's field campaign office on the north side of Indianapolis.

Both Donnelly and Braun said Wednesday said they would aim for a campaign focused on issues but acknowledged the overall campaign will be hard-fought.

He did mention them in his speech after his victory, he said he's hoping they will support him in this campaign moving forward, saying all three of them have the same goal and that is defeating incumbent Joe Donnelly.

Republicans in IN and West Virginia will settle two bitter Senate primary fights today, with hopes that the nominees will not be too battered to take down vulnerable Democratic incumbents in November and secure the slim GOP Senate majority.

With 90 percent of precincts reporting, Baird led with 36 percent of the vote to 30 percent for businessman Steve Braun and 15 percent for former gubernatorial aide Diego Morales, according to The Associated Press.

Brits set to enjoy hottest May Bank Holiday Monday on record
He said: "Average temperatures should be about 15C (59F) so they are about 10C (50F) above average for this time of year". Make the most of the sunshine while it lasts! The warmest May Bank Holiday Monday on record was 23.6C, in 1999.

"To be honest with you I never even thought about it", said Donnelly.

Meanwhile in Indiana, Braun, a former state legislator who poured his own money into the race, defeated Reps.

He said he knows there's still a lot of work to be done before November, but he has a plan and says once again he thinks he can win by focusing on his past and his accomplishments in the business sector. "From the beginning our message has been pretty simple - we need more outsiders and less career politicians in Washington".

Following Tuesday's GOP Senate primaries in West Virginia, Indiana and OH the spotlight is now on three races that could determine which party controls the upper chamber next year.

DeWine, Ohio's attorney general and a former US senator, dispatched Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor, who ran a hard-core conservative campaign, by a comfortable 60/40 margin.

In the 9th Congressional District, between suburban Charlotte and Fayetteville, GOP Rep. Robert Pittenger is working to fend off a primary challenger in conservative pastor Mark Harris, and he's had to move to the right in order to do so, which could endanger him more come November. That's why he voted dozens of times to raise your taxes while writing legislation to cut them for himself.

Braun says he voted in Democratic primaries in the past because in his southern in home Democrats held all the local offices. The primary season has laid bare the GOP candidates' baggage.

Braun is expected to attend a rally in Elkhart Thursday with President Trump and Vice President Pence. State Sen. Troy Balderson had a slight edge over conservative favorite Melanie Leneghan in the GOP race, while Franklin County Recorder Danny O'Connor won the Democratic race.

Donnelly, who is facing his first re-election bid, talked with reporters Wednesday morning, hours after the results were called. He'll remind Hoosiers that Donnelly isn't the moderate he claims to be.

Braun will now prepare to tackle Donnelly for his U.S. Senate seat.
