Bill Cosby's wife speaks out calling conviction 'mob justice'

Camille Cosby Compares Husband's Conviction to Lynching

Camille Cosby said her husband, once a beloved actor and comedian thought of as "America's Dad" for his role in a popular 1980s TV show, was railroaded by a self-serving system that she said demanded a criminal investigation of his prosecutors. "This is a homogeneous group of exploitive and corrupt people, whose primary objective is to advance themselves professionally and economically at the expense of Mr. Cosby's life".

Mrs Cosby compared the dozens of other women who have accused her husband to a "lynch mob" spurred on by the media's "frenzied, relentless demonisation" of him. Aside from using the term "lynch mob" and "mob justice" to refer to the actions taken against Bill Cosby in the aftermath of his conviction, she also called Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele and his team of prosecutors a "homogenous group of exploitative and corrupt people," singling out Steele for allegedly being named to his position in 2015 via an "unethical campaign".

More than 50 women have accused Bill Cosby of sexual abuse that stemmed from him drugging them and then taking advantage of them while they were knocked out.

Camille made her thoughts known about Bill's guilty verdict over charges of sexual harassment and assault in a lengthy three-page statement posted on the actor's Facebook page. "In 1955, she testified before a jury of white men in a MS courtroom that a 14-year-old African American boy had sexually assaulted her, only to later admit several decades later in 2008 that her testimony was false".

In one new allegation, a former research assistant said Rose exposed his penis and touched her breasts when they worked at NBC News' Washington bureau in 1976. A more recent example is the case of Darryl Hunt, an African American who in 1984 was wrongfully convicted for the rape and murder of a white woman, only to have DNA evidence establish in 1994 that he did not commit the crime. Nonetheless he was held in prison until 2004, serving nearly twenty years behind bars, until the true rapist confessed to the crimes. She and Bill Cosby had five children - two of whom have died - and she served as his business manager. She complained to the show's top producer, Chris Licht, but asked him not to tell human resources about it. Licht told the newspaper he followed her wishes and also talked to Rose about the incident.

"I am publicly asking for a criminal investigation of that district attorney and his cohorts", she wrote.

Cosby's wife appeared at his retrial only once, to hear closing statements from the defense.

"Once again, an innocent person has been found guilty based on an unthinking, unquestioning, unconstitutional frenzy propagated by the media and allowed to play out in a supposed court of law", Camille Cosby wrote.

Bill Cosby wife Camille Cosby has finally broken her silence following his guilty verdict.
