Ravens make clear that Joe Flacco is still their starting QB

Anthony Averett

The Baltimore Ravens traded up with the Philadelphia Eagles to select Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson with pick No. 32 in the 2018 National Football League draft on Thursday evening.

Newsome netted the electrifying signal caller by giving up the 52nd and 125th selections, as well as a 2019 second rounder to the Eagles in exchange for the 32nd and 132nd picks. "Believe that." Jackson told the former Cowboys star immediately after he was announced as the Ravens' second first round pick of the night.

Interesting to note that in their history, the Ravens have drafted just two players from the University of Maryland and both were wide receivers - Torrey Smith and Jermaine Lewis.

Cleveland opened the draft by taking Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield with the first pick, bypassing Penn State running back Saquon Barkley and USC quarterback Sam Darnold in the process. Averett's former teammate, Marlon Humphrey, was the Ravens first draft pick in 2017.

In the 1st round of his final draft as the Ravens' General Manager, Ozzie Newsome pulled out all the stops.

Barcelona's Andres Iniesta confirms plan to leave at end of season
This year, Iniesta will play for Spain at the World Cup in Russian Federation . "It was clear then that he deserved it". It's the main reason towards understanding that my time here is at an end. "I want to thank my teammates", he said.

"It's been a lot of picks", Newsome said. I'm thinking Newsome could've traded up in the second round for Jackson unless he heard rumors of another team trying to get him.

Among the Terps who've come before him are Torrey Smith, drafted seven years ago by the Ravens in the second round. It was a dream scenario, where everything the Ravens could hope for lined up.

It would have been tempting to take James at 16, or Moore at 22, but then Baltimore would not have had the assets to move up and get Jackson while still having a good number of picks in Days 2 and 3. Hurst was not disappointed Thursday night.

In his time as Ravens GM, Newsome has picked nine players from his alma mater - more than he has drafted from any other school.

"I think Ozzie made some great moves to set us up for the future", said Tony Zaccaria of White Marsh.

The reality TV star and mother of West's three children also tweeted to defend her husband's right to take the stance on Mr Trump. Ye said that he loved Donald Trump & that the two of them were "both dragon energy".

Another interesting element that caused the board to fall so well for Baltimore was the unexpected run on offensive linemen. "And in order for us to win this year, we need Joe Flacco", he said. But Joe Flacco is our quarterback, that's the thing we've got to remember.

Philadelphia still has six draft picks this year starting with No. 52 overall.

"He's going to give us everything he has", DeCosta said.

"We felt like the value was right for us, where we are as a football team, where the value was in this draft", said executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman.
