Jewish Leader Laments Corbyn's Lack Of Action On Anti-Semitism

The Jewish community demanded'enough is enough in a protest warning Labour must tackle the anti Semitism problem

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has admitted for the first time the problem and scale of anti-Semitism within his party, as he looks to draw a line under the row that has dogged his leadership and threatens to harm his party at the ballot box.

The hearing, held by Labour's National Constitutional Committee, will determine whether Wadsworth should be expelled from the party, after verbally attacking Smeeth at the launch of the Chakrabarti report almost two years ago.

However on the same programme, Holocaust survivor Susan Pollack called for Mr Corbyn to show leadership in tackling anti-Semitism.

Mr Corbyn's election campaign chief has said Labour members must acknowledge that the party has an issue with antisemitism.

"My party and I are sorry for the hurt and distress caused", Mr. Corbyn wrote in the Evening Standard.

My job is to do what's best for Jalen-and make no mistake, Jalen is a quarterback, and he wants to play quarterback. His comments also seem to prove that he prefers to see his quarterback try to pass rather than run when in trouble.

The Labour leader had a different take on the meeting, writing in a post on Facebook that he was "grateful" and "absolutely committed to rooting out anti-Semitism from our party and our society".

The meeting was set up after a demonstration by Jewish groups outside parliament over what they felt was Corbyn's insufficient action on the issue.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Jewish Leadership Council said it had been "a disappointing missed opportunity".

None of this had been achieved, Jonathan Goldstein and Jonathan Arkush said after a two-hour meeting with Corbyn and others from the Labour party, including the general secretary, Jennie Formby.

"Words in letters and newspaper articles will never be enough", they added.

Do the Pacers end tonight with a 3-1 series lead? James then shoved Stephenson and was called for a technical foul. Thompson didn't do anything that notable, but he did some nice little things and was a plus-7 in those minutes.

Expectations before Tuesday's meeting were low, reported British broadcaster ITV, with little progress being made in preparatory discussions on Monday between representatives from the Jewish groups and Seumas Milne, Corbyn's director of strategy and communications.

"Their concerns are not "smears".

"After we have had our meeting with Mr. Corbyn on April 24, we will see whether he and the Labour Party have committed to the action we need against antisemitism", the Board of Deputies and Jewish Leadership Council said in a joint statement turning down their invitations.

"We will hold the Labour Party to account for any future failures".

They said Mr Corbyn did not agree with proposals there should be a fixed timetable to deal with complaints of anti-Semitism against Labour members.
