George Stephanopoulos: I tried to ask Comey 'the most critical questions'

Comey takes a swipe at Trump in plug for new book

Fitton said on "Outnumbered Overtime" that both Mueller and Comey are two senior law enforcement officers who would not be publicly discussing an obstruction investigation into the president if they thought it was a serious probe.

The war of words between Trump and Comey has heated up with the publication of Comey's new book. "Again, I don't know whether there's going to be a future proceeding where I'll be needed, but if there is, I think the prosecutors'll be OK with me". His regrets include making "thoughtless" statements about the Holocaust in a speech that angered Poland, as well as sounding off on an Apple advertisement that "bugged" him, he said - but not his conduct as Federal Bureau of Investigation chief.

"One of the leaked excerpts from Comey's memoir states, "[Trump's] face appeared slightly orange with bright white half-moons under his eyes where I assumed he placed small tanning goggles, and impressively coiffed, bright blonde hair, which upon close inspection looked to be all his...

Despite his criticisms of Mr Trump, Mr Comey told ABC News that he did not believe he should be impeached, as it would let the American people "off the hook " for something "they're duty bound to do directly".

"I think it's possible".

Bill Nelson calls for safety probe into Allegiant Air
Canadian global affairs analyst and former aviation journalist Michael Bociurkiw said it's "absolutely shocking" that the U.S. Last year, the airline flew 12 million passengers on its 99 planes to over 120 destinations coast to coast.

"The president doesn't get to decide who goes to jail", he said.

James Comey is breaking his long silence and describing his interactions with President Donald Trump before he was abruptly fired past year.

Comey, visibly perplexed, showed Trump the back of his hand. "I would explain to these bright young lawyers that, like all great gifts, this one comes with a responsibility, a solemn obligation to guard and protect that reservoir and pass it on to those who follow as full as you received it, and maybe even fuller". Trump's responses to Comey so far have arrived in the form of a series of tweets in which he calls Comey a "slimeball" who is "not smart" and "will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history". But, he acknowledged, "I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump, and so I'm sure that it was a factor".

In his new book, A Higher Loyalty, Comey describes Trump as unfit for the nation's highest office, but stops short of concluding there's a strong case against the president for obstructing justice.

Up until now, Comey has been a devastating witness against Trump because, unlike the president, he is so obviously upright and so careful in what he has said.

Daniels's interview contained a startling claim that she was threatened in a Las Vegas parking lot to keep quiet about her alleged affair with the future president. "I'm trying to be an author", he said, "and bring the reader into the room".

"There's something more important than that that should unite all of us, and that is our president must embody respect and adhere to the values that are at the core of this country", Comey said."The most important being truth. This president is not able to do that".

"Obviously, most likely is that he's not", Comey said. Instead, they launched into a strategy session about how to "spin what we'd just told them" for the public, he writes. There is no indication Comey is under investigation for doing either.

But what's really grabbing headlines this morning is Comey's response to those blasting him for taking what they consider a cheap shot at Trump's appearance in the book.
