Bill Nelson calls for safety probe into Allegiant Air

60 Minutes’ Report Takes Aim at Allegiant Air

It took Steve Kroft seven months to complete a "60 minutes" report dealing with the investigation on the safety record of the air craft- Allegiant air.

In a segment that aired Sunday on CBS, "60 Minutes" reported that Allegiant had more than 100 serious mechanical incidents between January 2016 and October 2017.

Data from federal regulators showed that Allegiant was on average almost 3.5 times more likely to have a mid-air breakdown than other major airlines.

"I want to tell you personally that I am outraged and astounded by the irresponsible, grossly misleading story aired by CBS 60 minutes", Gust said in a statement to customers.

In a written response sent to KELO.com News, Allegiant says the "star" source in the report is highly suspect.

He stressed that the political solution is necessary to bring peace in the country. "Those who are responsible for this heinous attack should pay the price".

"We are disappointed yet again by another feeble attempt to damage the reputation of our hard-working team members and that of our company". (See Defendants' Revised Motion for Summary Judgment, Eighth Judicial District Court, Clark County, NV, Case No. A-15-727524-C.) Surprisingly, the 60 Minutes presentation of Mr. Kinzer's case omits this publicly-available side of the story.

"I was terrified and honestly did not think we were going to make it", she said. The people, however, through social media have shown their active participation and have given their views too for the Air Allegiant that they won't be travelling in that aircraft. He says there have been a few delays where the captain wanted something double checked before departing, but no cancellations due to maintenance issues.

Allegiant says it began making necessary changes after a federal investigation in 2015.

The report suggested that the problems are a result of the aging Boeing MD-80s that Allegiant plans to phase out by year's end, but which now comprise approximately 30% of its fleet. The airline offers two weekly flights from St. Cloud to Mesa, Arizona. In the meantime, they will continue to fly passengers from smaller airports to resort locations such as Las Vegas and Orlando, Florida.

It is unfortunate and disappointing that CBS 60 Minutes has chosen to air a false narrative about Allegiant and the FAA. "When they have safety issues, so when they have safety issues we have to be concerned about it because they set the standards".

However, the Someone Like You star took to Instagram to let the mum-of-three know just how much she was enjoying her performance. It also featured a rendition of Lift Every Voice and Sing, a song often referred to as the " Black American National Anthem ".

Piccolo had no information on Allegiant's only flight Monday.

Tim Davis, the president of Suzi Davis Travel in Bloomington, who books travel through Bloomington's Central Illinois Regional Airport, said he believes air travel and travel on Allegiant remains safe despite the report.

Last year, the airline flew 12 million passengers on its 99 planes to over 120 destinations coast to coast.

FAA records obtained in 2016 by Alternative Research Services owner Robert MacArthur found the airline was plagued by emergency landings, failed take-offs, engine troubles and other issues.

Canadian global affairs analyst and former aviation journalist Michael Bociurkiw said it's "absolutely shocking" that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration hasn't taken action against Allegiant, given the number of mechanical problems the airline's fleet has allegedly experienced.
