Woman sues Michigan State, says 3 basketball players raped her in 2015

Lawsuit: 3 Michigan State athletes gang-raped student

Those three players incidentally are no longer with Michigan State.

The Michigan attorney general's office is investigating the role others at the school may have played in crimes committed by Nassar, who is spending the rest of his life in prison.

The woman resumed classes in January 2016 and changed her major.

The lawsuit alleges that Michigan State violated Title IX by failing to properly respond to the allegation.

After midnight, most of the MSU basketball team arrived there, including the three accused men. The team had just returned to campus days earlier after being eliminated from the NCAA tournament by Duke University. One of the accused players bought her a drink and offered to introduce her to "some of the guys". Because of her interest in sports journalism, she accepted.

One player invited her to a party at an off-campus apartment and told the freshman her roommate was already going. "At no point did she consent to the sexual activity". There, her roommate told her she did not know about a party. The woman reportedly had "no intention of having any physical contact with any of the people present at the party". The student said she tried to send a text, but "could not control her thumbs". She began to wonder if she might have been drugged.

France, Croatia reach Davis Cup semis, Nadal keeps Spain alive
Now world No.1 Nadal must beat world No.4 Alexander Zverev if Spain is to avoid defeat in the last eight. Spain is trying to extend its winning streak at home to 27 ties.

The freshman was uncomfortable and was able to exit the bedroom and make her way back to the living room where she felt amusing and suspected she had been drugged.

One of the basketball players asked her if she wanted to see basketball memorabilia and brought her to his room. The room then went dark and she was allegedly thrown face down on the bed and held in place, unable to move. She woke up on the couch hours later and got a cab home.

Her complaint does not name her alleged attackers or university counselors.

The lawsuit does not take the names of the three basketball players and instead focuses on Michigan State University and its toxic culture. It was not clear why, or who the person was.

Court records obtained by WOOD-TV, a sister station of WISH-TV, detail the alleged gang rape and alleged negligence by MSU officials to inform the victim of her rights.

"Plaintiff was expressly told by MSUCC staff that 'if you pursue this, you are going to be swimming with some really big fish, '" the document alleges. The staff also did not notify the alleged victim her option to report the rapes to the Office of Institutional Equity, OIE, nor did they notify her of her Title IX rights, protections and accommodations.

Apple said to work on touchless iPhones
Apple's latest iPhones have a feature called 3D Touch that responds differently depending on different finger pressures. These panels will curve inward gradually from top to bottom, and not down at the edges like Samsung's recent flagships.

As FOX 47's Cryss Walker tells us, some students say they're not surprised. The woman was eventually admitted to an outpatient psychiatric program as a result of the incident. Then the first player allegedly pulled her into a bedroom and told her, "You are mine for the night". She then said she felt extremely hungry and thirsty.

Represented by Lansing attorney Karen Truszkowski, she seeks damages, an injunction, attorney fees and costs.

The victim stated that she had reported the incident to the Michigan State University Counseling Center, but they subjected her to a hostile environment and did not come across as understanding or helpful.

Reports of sexual assault is another black eye on Michigan State's athletic department, which has dealt with scandal for much of the past year. The three players are not named.

In the last eight years, Spartan basketball players have faced rape charges on two other occasions, the Detroit Free Press reported.
