Trump to Skip Correspondents' Dinner, but Talk Radio? He's In

SEE YA! President Trump DITCHES White House Press Dinner for Second Year

US President Donald Trump will again snub an annual dinner celebrating the White House press corp, continuing a boycott that began in his first year of office.

The organization said, though, that Trump "will actively encourage members of the executive branch to attend and join us as we celebrate the First Amendment".

Calling the media "so bad" and "so fake", he said: "I want to get it straightened out with the press before I do it". "So it's probably unlikely I'll do it".

You might recall controversies surrounding last year's event when it seemed like Trump would attend.

Kim Jong-un could unleash 'UNIMAGINABLE DEVASTATION' if diplomacy fails
US and North Korean intelligence officials have spoken a couple of times and even met in a third country, CNN reported. Talks between the two leaders are supposed to take place by May, but a time and place have yet to be decided.

But the president, who has long had an adversarial relationship with the news media, did not elaborate on how he planned to do so.

Trump, who frequently criticizes the national news media, often targets negative news stories about his administration or outlets that cover his presidency critically as "fake news".

Trump had attended the dinner before becoming president, notably in 2011, when former US President Barack Obama publicly ribbed Trump about questioning whether Obama was born in the US.

Trump suggested he will "probably" skip the feast, like he did past year, as he kept up his continued assault on what he sees as negative coverage of his tenure in the Oval Office.

Watch Bald Eagle Land on Shoulder of Unfazed Seattle Mariners Pitcher
Rather than running around, Paxton just stood there until the eagle left and chose to set on the ground again. You could say that Seattle Mariners pitcher James Paxton is, well, "unflappable".

It was, however, communicated by the White House that the president will send Sarah Huckabee Sanders, his press secretary, to the event scheduled on April 28, said the country's media. He also declined an invite a year ago.

The televised event requires the president to smile through remarks by a comedian - who typically roasts the president - as well as deliver a humorous address, teasing the press and political opponents.

Trump did, however, attend a smaller gathering of Washington reporters last month - the off-camera, farcical and musical dinner put on by the The Gridiron Club and Foundation.

Trump himself will not attend, for the second year in a row. And unlike past year, she said, the president wouldn't discourage other administration officials from attending.
