Curved display, Air gestures for iPhone: Is Apple following Samsung's footsteps?

Apple reportedly plans iPhones with curved screens and non-touch gesture controls

These two major screen technologies are said to come as Apple plans to make its iPhone handsets more distinct and stand out from the ever-expanding smartphone market where majority appear the same with bezel-less screens, powerful dual cameras and more.

While Apple hasn't introduced touchless gestures in the past, companies like Samsung and Motorola have.

A new report out of Bloomberg this morning suggests that Apple is developing two new pieces of technology for future iPhone models: one is touchless gesture control and the other is a curved display.

Nation pauses 50 years after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr
The Baptist pastor's faith played the pivotal role in his fervent quest for political and social change. One year later he became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize victor at 35 for his non-violent resistance.

Apple's design would require gestures to be closer to the screen than with Project Soli, the person familiar with the situation said. However, there is no word on how these new gestures would be integrated into iOS software. The screen would gradually curve inward from top to bottom.

A new report claims that future iPhones might be equipped with technology that allows you to use them without having to touch their screen with your finger. With last year's iPhone X, they showed how a fullscreen display is done in style along with a modern biometric verification system. The iPhone X's OLED screen curves slightly at the bottom, but the shape is mostly invisible to the human eye. Apple is still in the early development stages with those technologies.

OLED, by contrast, the material found on the iPhone X and current-generation Apple Watch, is a light-emitting diode containing thin flexible sheets of an organic electroluminescent material.

Israel Reverses Course Hours After Signing UN Deal To Resettle African Migrants
The UN refugee agency meanwhile said it had found out about Netanyahu's initial suspension of the agreement through news reports. Netanyahu said the opposition was "baseless and absurd" and that Israel would resettle "genuine refugees".

Apple has been working on their ARM-based processors now available inside iOS devices, the Apple Watch, and the Apple TV. So, we can say that we cannot see this technology in near future.

However, it's unclear if Apple sees any additional benefit in ergonomics by going a different direction with its curves, or this is simply a measure meant to preemptively stop people from saying it plagiarised on Samsung's design.
