Here's Everything Chrissy Teigen Tweeted During 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (Updating Live)

Zack Kotzias as Jesus with the apostles at the Last Supper

Chrissy Teigen live tweeted John Legend's performance as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar during NBC's live concert on Sunday (April 1) - and she had the funniest tweet to her hubby after the show. That is good enough to tie with "60 Minutes" on CBS in households as well as top ABC's "American Idol", which drew a 4.5. Prior to Sunday night's event, the 2016 staging of "Hairspray Live!" had the dubious distinction of being NBC's least-watched, lowest-rated musical of the series, averaging 9.05 million viewers and a 2.3 rating. NBC fared much better in 2013 and 2015 - with The Sound of Music and The Wiz, respectively.

John Legend played Jesus, Sara Bareilles was Mary Magdalene, and Alice Cooper strutted as Herod in this version of the 1971 rock opera. The pregnant model, who is renowned for her lively Twitter feed, ensured she and her followers were kept abreast of the Glory singer's performance as Jesus Christ during the special.

In its review of the 2018 broadcast, The Hollywood Reporter wrote: "This was a phenomenally balanced production of Jesus Christ Superstar, in which star power was equaled by depth of feeling and characterization in all the principals".

The rating means that, excluding the network's Golden Globes and sports, "Jesus Christ Superstar" is NBC's top time slot rating for 8 p.m.to 10:15 p.m.in the last three years, The Wrap said.
