SpaceX successfully deployed Iridium Next satellite that will improve network coverage

MHI Dr. Ko Ogasawara

The first stage booster for today's launch was previously flown during Iridium-3 in October 2017, making this the second Iridium NEXT launch to use a flight-proven Falcon 9 rocket.

The expected liftoff was originally scheduled for Thursday, but after an issue was detected by the launch team, the mission was delayed, Iridium CEO Matt Desch tweeted Tuesday. SpaceX has ferried all of those satellites into orbit over 5 different missions, but even that isn't the most impressive part about today's launch.

The reusable Falcon 9 rocket was tested in McGregor, Texas.

ICE Ends Policy Of Presuming Release For Pregnant Detainees
The Huffington Post reported previous year that two women had suffered miscarriages while in immigration detention facilities. Officials say it's unclear how many women who would have been released under the old policy will now be held.

During the launch, SpaceX cut the feed due to restrictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

SpaceX requested a waiver so it would only need to fly 1,600 satellites in that period, arguing that it would be physically impossible to launch all 4,425 during the same period-a launch cadence of 60 satellites per month. He further added that they would be working towards adding live views from the orbit in the future and were in discussion with the NOAA to lift these restrictions.

SpaceX's next launch is scheduled for April 2, when another Falcon 9 rocket will be used in a cargo resupply mission to the International Space Station. "The new satellites and services we're launching and continued strong subscriber growth are cementing our position as an industry leader and critical global communications platform and underscore the significant transformation we've undergone as a company over the last 10 years". Space.com has reached out to SpaceX and NOAA for clarification. Six of the satellites will serve as on-orbit spares.

Uber Will Not Renew California Permit To Operate Self Driving Cars
According to some of their former employees, that created a "blind spot" around the vehicle where it can't "see" pedestrians. Google's former self-driving vehicle project, Waymo, only required human intervention for every 5,600 miles.

"Iridium is the only mobile voice and data satellite communications network that spans the entire globe".

After ending live video of Friday's launch, SpaceX used Twitter to provide updates as each satellite separated from the rocket's upper stage.

On Thursday, the USA communications regulator gave formal approval to a plan by Elon Musk's SpaceX to build a global broadband network using satellites. Musk said the fairing landed in the water "a few hundred meters" away from Mr. Steven.
