Bishop Emmanuel Badejo of Oyo said local Christians are grieved over the murder of the five school girls, and outraged over Boko Haram's persecution of Sharibu for her faith in Christ.

"I am supposed to go to Dapchi today, let me be honest with you but because of the girl (Leah Sharibu) that I learnt here will be released today", he said.

"So far, a total of 107 persons, comprising 105 Dapchi schoolgirls and the two non-students have been released by the insurgents", he said.
