Dapchi Attack: Police deny running away when Boko Haram struck

DAPCHI Minister Lai explains why Boko Haram had free passage to return abducted girls

The rights group cited security sources, parents and others as saying the military and police received at least five calls in the hours before the attack, which reminded numerous abduction of 276 Nigerian schoolgirls in Chibok by Boko Haram extremists in 2014.

Campaign group Amnesty International says that the army ignored repeated warnings of an attack on Dapchi town.

AI had in a report released on Monday said based on the findings of team of researchers sent to Dapchi from people, including girls who escaped, parents of the abducted girls, local officials and eyewitnesses and security officials, the military was alerted of advance of Boko Haram to the town multiple times before the abduction of the girls.

The report by AI stated that: "The Nigerian authorities have failed in their duty to protect civilians, just as they did in Chibok four years ago".

The military in the statement signed Acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General John Agim questioned the motive of AI in the conduct of the report. "To demoralise friendly nations and people collaborating with security forces to end the forces of evil in the North-East", they said.

Banksy is the latest artist to take over the iconic Houston Bowery wall, made famous in the 1980's by artist Keith Haring. It seems somebody has added a signature tag to his artful protest of the imprisonment of a Turkish artist and journalist.

"The armed forces of Nigeria is a professional military and has attained the highest form of professionalism in line with global best practices, and so, could not have ignored the warning of Boko Haram attack only to work tirelessly to get the girls back".

The post Nigerian Army replies Amnesty International, seeks for evidence of allegation appeared first on Vanguard News.

Amnesty alleged that the Nigerian army and police received at least five phone calls warning that Boko Haram was on the way to Dapchi as early as four hours before the attack, but did not take "effective measures" to halt the militants or rescue the girls once they had been taken.

"Nigerians and the worldwide community need to know that it has become the norm for amnesty global to ignore basic standards of consulting critical stakeholders, particularly the leadership of the various security agencies, in order to ascertain the veracity of its numerous accusations against them, but will rather rush to the public with unverified, beer parlour gossips and poorly cooked up tissue of lies to defame the integrity of security institutions in the country".

"Within this year, AI issued reports against the military in January 2018, February 2018 and now March 2018 The question is; what is the motive of the AI?"

Tyrann Mathieu rumors: Former Cardinals safety could be eyeing New England Patriots
Despite the injury, the Cardinals rewarded him with a five-year, $62.5 million contract, with $15.5 million guaranteed. But he got into trouble with marijuana and eventually was kicked out of school.

A competent senior police officer, who confirmed this to PRNigeria, said the personnels will be deployed in more than 300 schools in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno to enhanced enhance security to students and teachers in schools.

He assured that the Federal Government will not rest until all the Chibok and Dapchi school girls in the Boko Haram custody are released and reunited with their families. Is AI trying to undermine the outcome of this committee?

"The answer is simple: AI is not ready to contribute towards finding a solution to our problems, if anything, they are ready to complicate the problems", said Agim.

The Nigerian army, however, said the Armed Forces of Nigeria is poised to bring the activities of Boko Haram terrorist to a complete end and "no amount of discouraging fabrications aimed at deterring the military from achieving its constitutionally assigned responsibilities".
