Trump attacks fairness of Mueller probe

Sen. Jeff Flake R-Ariz. speaks at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester N.H. Friday

Trump has denied any collusion with Russian Federation during the campaign, and has downplayed reports that Russian Federation acted in an attempt to boost his campaign and harm Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton's.

Trump has remained insistent that there was no collusion between his campaign and Russian Federation and suggested the investigation is politically motivated. I see no cause when it comes to Mr. Mueller. Mueller is a Republican.

Mueller is investigating whether Trump's actions, including Comey's ouster, constitute obstruction of justice.

Comey on Saturday issued a response to Trump, also on Twitter.

Republicans strongly cautioned the President and his team to let Mueller do his work.

The tweet marks one of the first times that Trump has mentioned special counsel Robert Mueller by name.

"As I have said before, if he tried to do that, that would be the beginning of the end of his presidency, because we're a rule of law nation", Graham said.

"People want to remember the Republican Party as the decent party".

Sanders On Stormy Daniels Threats: WH Concerned About Safety Of 'Any Person'
Her father's fears may be justified, according to her lawyer Michael Avenatti , who claims she has received threats of violence. But because this president is Donald Trump and not anyone else, it never seemed to matter quite as much as one might expect.

Trump had warned last July that if Mueller broadened his inquiry to include the finances of the Trump Organization, it would be a "violation". Lindsey Graham a Trump ally.

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., called for the passage of bipartisan bills created to protect Mueller that have stalled in Congress.

Trump's attacks on the special counsel team reinforced demands by Democrats to protect Mueller's investigation.

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, of IL, said on "Fox News Sunday" that he agreed with Gowdy's remarks, adding that "any effort by the President or his counsel to try to stop this investigation needs to be resisted on a bipartisan basis". Any dismissal of Mueller would have to be carried out by Rosenstein, who has publicly expressed his support for Mueller. Those who pleaded guilty are former Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former campaign aide Rick Gates.

The President also called into question news that McCabe had written memos about their interactions.

Marc Short, Trump's congressional liaison, said the president's frustration is "well-warranted" because "there has been no evidence whatsoever of collusion".

Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, is overseeing the investigation after Sessions recused himself a year ago.

Meanwhile, Democrat leaders also voiced their disapproval of Trump's tweet. Trump sought to cast doubt on their veracity.

'Willy Wonka' child star appears on 'Jeopardy!' and delights social media fans
However, the former actor did not make any mention of his role in the classic children's film. In 2015, the Willy Wonka stars reunited after 44 years of their movie stint.

A skeptical Trump tweeted: "Spent very little time with Andrew McCabe, but he never took notes when he was with me".

"Wow, watch Comey lie under oath to Senator G", he tweeted Sunday morning, "When asked 'have you ever been an anonymous source ... or known someone else to be an anonymous source...?' He said strongly 'never, no.' He lied".

Many White House and cabinet officials return on Monday with the axe hanging over them, after Trump said last week following the firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that he was finally gathering the team he wanted around him.

And Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy, of SC, told Fox News' Chris Wallace that Dowd should not be advising the President to push Mueller to end the investigation.

Though the precise contents are unknown, the memos possibly could help substantiate Mr. McCabe's assertion that he was unfairly maligned by the White House.

Trump may have felt more emboldened when Sessions, acting on the recommendation of Federal Bureau of Investigation disciplinary officials, sacked McCabe on Friday, two days before McCabe's retirement date.

Shortly after McCabe was sacked, the president praised the decision on Twitter, calling it a "great day for Democracy".

"I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe's boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier", Dowd wrote in a statement to the Daily Beast.
