Dolphins cutting Ndamukong Suh, want to change everything

NFL Rumors: Dolphins To Release Ndamukong Suh As Part Of 'Culture Change'

Ndamukong Suh #93 of the Miami Dolphins reacts in the closing seconds of the game against the Dallas Cowboys at Sun Life Stadium on November 22, 2015 in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Suh's release also will take a large contract off Miami's books.

Suh made about $60 million in his three seasons and was in line for $17 million this year, with a $26.1 million cap hit.

Suh will reportedly be released two days before the NFL's league year begins on Wednesday.

It's the Miami Dolphins releasing beast defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, as ESPN's Jeff Darlington had it first. "There will be some exciting news going on".

Darlington reported that all three moves - including the impending release of Suh - are related to a culture change being pushed by head coach Adam Gase.

In 2015, the Miami Dolphins made defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh the highest-paid defensive player in National Football League history, signing him to a six-year deal worth over $114 million. He has a reputation for needless penalties and dirty play, while his aloof personality raised questions about his leadership.

During the season, Miami traded running back Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles - where he went on to win a Super Bowl title - while agreeing to trade wide receiver Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns last week. He was also the 2010 Defensive Rookie of the Year and a three-time first-team All-Pro selection with the Lions. He was a Pro Bowl player for the team during the 2016 season.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Dolphins are parting ways with Suh for locker room reasons more than anything else.

Suh started all 44 games he has played with the Dolphins, coming up with 14.5 sacks along with 107 tackles, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
