Shubhankar Sharma goes low to soar high at Indian Open

Pablo Larrazabal

Rising Indian golfer Shubhankar Sharma shattered the course record at the challenging DLF Golf course with a sensational eight-under 64 to surge to second place after the unfinished second round at the Dollars 1,750,000 Hero Indian Open here today.

Nine players were still on the course when play was suspended due to darkness, while SSP Chawrasia's hopes of a third straight victory were dashed by a 77 as he slumped to seven over - four outside the projected cut mark.

Indian golfers have won 12 of the last 26 renewals and I fancy that could soon be 13 from 27. And with Argentine Emiliano Grillo being the runaway leader after following his course record-equalling 7-under 65 with a 4-under 68, there was much to be anxious about at the DLF Golf & Country Club.

"I'm very happy with the way I handled myself out there".

Emelia Robertshaw, 11, Jodie Brackett, 11, and Zhara Gathenya, 10, told the duchess about their experiences at the school. The charity helps to support emotional health and wellbeing for pupils, and support workshops for parents and teachers.

"I think the courtesy vehicle made a world record from the hotel to the golf course in a couple of minutes, a ride that can take 10 or 15 minutes - it was really wild. It was very tough and I was able to make some good putts and hit the fairways when I needed to", he said.

I pointlessly, as it transpired, looked back to see how five and six shot leaders have fared on the European Tour since 1996 so now I've looked at four-stroke leaders at halfway.

One-over after his first 18 holes yesterday, Shubhankar dropped just one shot at the seventh hole today and sank as many as nine birdies three on front nine and six on back nine - to emerge as the best Indian in the field.

"If you told me I would be seven-under-par going into the weekend after being five-over-par on my opening nine holes yesterday, I would just have laughed", he said. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to terms with popular former Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick , the Tampa Bay Times reported. Evans was a second-team All-Pro in 2016, and has twice caught 12 receiving touchdowns in a season.

"He said you are going to be a great player one day and just keep practising". That was why, I made a decision to go for the green (on 18).

Joshi said: "To go bogey-free on this course is extremely pleasing".

"I nearly had to play ideal golf out there". That's a shade over 54% so one could argue that Grillo is a fair price at odd-against but I'm not going to. In the morning, I told myself that I have momentum on my side.

As things now stand on day two of the tournament, Larrazabal is lying five strokes behind Emiliano Grillo in second heading into the weekend. I'm going to wait and see what today brings but I have had a small top-up on Henrik Stenson at [100.0].
