Mikaela Shiffrin won her second straight overall World Cup title, finishing third in a giant slalom on Friday.

With Saturday's victory, Shiffrin clinched her fifth World Cup slalom title in six seasons. With one race remaining, she leads world giant slalom champion Tessa Worley by 92 points in the discipline standings with one race remaining.

Shiffrin was a clear favorite to successfully defend her maiden overall title when she won the first five races of 2018.

Shiffrin, who turns 23 on Tuesday, set a World Cup record on Saturday as she became the first 22-year-old skier, male or female, with 42 World Cup wins.
