Donald Trump to get military parade, but no tanks

President Donald Trump speaks at the Latino Coalition Legislative Summit Wednesday

A military parade requested by US President Donald Trump will take place on 11 November - Veterans' Day - in Washington DC, the Pentagon has confirmed.

But he said there would be "wheeled vehicles only, no tanks" in order to protect the roads of Washington.

It will, however, involve "a heavy air component" with military aircraft flying overhead at the end of parade, including older aircraft "as available", the memo said.

"Consideration must be given to minimize damage to local infrastructure", the memo reads.

The memo said the parade will focus on the contributions of US veterans from the Revolutionary War up to the current wars, emphasizing "the price of freedom".

Corbyn insists Labour not clamping down on conference debate
He added: "Perhaps the reason it is not is that the days of control freakery in the Labour machine have not actually gone at all". But he has stopped short of backing single market membership despite being urged to do so by many party members.

In a Pentagon memo released to CNN on Friday, the Department of Defense is now moving forward with a plan of a parade.

President Donald Trump and his wife First Lady Melania Trump, along with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron during the annual Bastille Day military parade in 2017.

It was sent from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis' office to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who will organize the event, and offers guidance as to how the parade will be carried out.

In the memo, the Joint Staff are tasked to plan the parade, while U.S. Northern Command is instructed to execute it.

The route will start at the White House and finish at the Capitol. The organizers also call for veterans to wear different periods' uniforms and perform reenactments.

Tampa Bay Bucs reward WR Evans with $82.5 million extension
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to terms with popular former Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick , the Tampa Bay Times reported. Evans was a second-team All-Pro in 2016, and has twice caught 12 receiving touchdowns in a season.

The last major parade in Washington was in 1991 after the Gulf War, when missiles and tanks moved through the streets of the capital.

The suggested plans do, however, call for a representation of veterans across US history and an air demonstration, according to a note from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis's office at the Pentagon.

But it won't resemble the Bastille Day celebration in France that Trump had leaned on for inspiration.

"It was one of the greatest parades I've ever seen".

"Veterans and Medal of Honor recipients should be surrounding POTUS in the reviewing area at the Capitol", the memo reads, using an acronym for president of the United States. We've been putting together some options.
