Facebook doubling down efforts to take on LinkedIn

You might find your next job on Facebook

Since a year ago, we've witnessed significant changes in Facebook's policies and algorithm. "It was also much easier to look through applications on Facebook", he said. Facebook's offering, conversely, is focused on small- and medium-sized businesses.

The pervasiveness of the 2.2-billion man social network could help give social media a more formal piece of job application forms. "We want to help people find those jobs and help local businesses hire the right people", Alex Himel, vice president of local at Facebook, wrote in an announcement. Conveniently, this also lays out a new foundation for lucrative business.

Himel declined to specify to AFP how many job postings were listed with Facebook.

Facebook is rolling out its job application feature, which was previously only available in the USA and Canada, to over 40 countries. Market research company Morning Consult surveyed 5,000 adults in the US and found that one in four had either searched for or found a job using Facebook. It's kind of like LinkedIn, but applied to your Facebook network.

The social network giant, Facebook previously rolled out an astounding application for the users hunting for jobs.

Through the dashboard, job opportunities can be filtered by proximity, industry, and job type. Companies and job seekers don't have to pay anything to gain access.

By going directly to facebook.com/jobs. On mobile, the Job section will be available in the 'Explore' section of the mobile app. Job posts will appear in multiple places on Facebook, including on a business' Page, in the Jobs dashboard, in Marketplace, and in News Feed.

Seeking work: People sift through roles in the Jobs marketplace or are notified of them via alerts. You can also edit your application before you submit it.

Businesses can schedule interviews, send automated reminders and can contact the applicant directly through the Messenger app. All you have to do is create a post directly from your page with all the necessary information and then upload it.
