A United States tourist in Japan murdered a girl he met on a dating app, chopped her up and scattered her body parts across the Japanese countryside, police have alleged.
"I never heard of a trouble here, so I'm surprised", a 73-year-old resident of the same building the severed head was found said.
The woman had told her friends she was visiting Osaka to meet a man she had met via an app.
Bayraktar, by contrast, was filmed leaving and returning to the building several times - on at least one occasion, he carried a travel bag.
Mexican President's visit to US postponed after testy Trump call
As a result of the impasse, both countries later agreed that getting the leaders together at the White House wasn't a good idea. The leaders did meet once, on the sidelines of the G20 summit of major economies in Hamburg, Germany, last July.
The man was apparently the last person seen with the woman, a 27-year-old office worker who was reported missing on February 16. Her severed head was found on Saturday, inside a suitcase in an Osaka flat he was renting, according to local officials.
The two legs were found about 15 feet apart from each other in a wood area of Kyoto's Yamashina Ward.
He has been identified by local media as Yevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar, 26, from NY, and reportedly entered Japan in January for a sightseeing trip.
He is being held on charges of confining the deceased woman. At the vacation home rental, authorities discovered the severed head of the woman, who has not yet been identified, inside of a suitcase.
Three players who should definitely start for Newcastle against Bournemouth
Bournemouth and Newcastle are still in relegation danger, but Kevin Hatchard doesn't expect them to be too cautious this weekend. Bournemouth certainly have reason to think they can produce a much better display on Saturday.
Security videos revealed the woman going into the apartment mansion reportedly along with an unknown man, yet, the woman ever left the apartment.
According to the sources, the missing woman is in her 20s and works at a company in Osaka.
The man has reportedly denied all the allegations against him.
The case - with a possible tie to Long Island - has captured national attention over the past few days in Japan, where a suspect identified by Japanese media as Yevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar, 26, was taken into custody February 22. He is thought to have taken several other women into the same Higashinari apartment, although police have confirmed they are safe, according to the Mainichi newspaper.
