Spirit passenger flushes pet hamster down toilet after misinformation, report says

Spirit Airlines admits to giving Aldecosea conflicting information about whether her pet hamster could fly but strongly denies any employee suggested she flush the hamster down a toilet

The 20-something is now considering suing Spirit for the alleged part they played in her hamster's demise.

Aldecosea said she called Spirit twice before her flight from Baltimore to Fort Lauderdale confirming that it was okay for her to bring her hamster on the flight.

After spending hours attempting to figure out what to do with the emotional support animal, Aldecosea claims that Spirit Airlines then told her that her options for Pebbles' future was to either release her outside or to flush her down the toilet.

She says on both occasions she was assured her furry companion was fine to fly.

It's reported Spirit Air staff told Belen Aldecosea she couldn't board with Pebbles, despite being previously told she could.

Spirit spokesperson Derek Dombrowski admits an employee misinformed Belen about her hamster's travel rights, but vehemently denied the flushing suggestion.

Aldecosea told the Herald she made a decision to come forward after hearing the peacock story. But she had no friends or family in town to pick up Pebbles.

Speaking on Nova FM, Hemsworth admitted that the people making the ads weren't immune to the appeal of taking the notion further. Dundee - The Son of A Legend Returns Home is Tourism Australia's latest viral marketing campaign, created for the US Super Bowl.

The airline said that it mistakenly told the woman the hamster would be allowed on the flight, but it denied that any employees recommended flushing or harming the animal.

Belen insists she checked vehicle hire and Greyhound bus options before killing Pebbles, and claimed flushing him was kinder than letting him free where he would freeze or be hit by a auto.

"It's hard, but you really have to look at the circumstances because this whole thing only makes sense with someone telling her to (flush the animal)", Goodman told USA TODAY.

"She was scared. I was scared".

She said the alternative would have been to set Pebbles free to roam the risky streets of Baltimore - where crime drama The Wire is set. "I sat there for a good ten minutes crying in the stall".

She is now thinking about documenting a claim against Spirit, pointing the finger at them for purportedly forcing her into killing the creature. "When the Guest appeared with the hamster at the airport, our agents offered and the Guest accepted an opportunity to take a later flight, so she had time to find other accommodations for the animal". The phone representative said yes.

After the incident, Aldecosea said she emailed Spirit Airlines to complain and the airline offered her a free flight - which she declined. "This must have been a horrific, terrifying death", PETA Senior Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch told Fox News. This probably been a horrendous, alarming passing'.

The U.S. Transport Safety Administration said hamsters were welcome through their security lanes.

The airline refused to allow Dexter to get on board the aircraft, despite the passenger going so far as buying the huge bird its own ticket for the flight. She was traveling home that day to have the growth removed from her neck.

'She was so cherishing.

Belen Aldecosea, 21, of Miami Beach, Florida, was flying home from college to South Florida to deal with an urgent medical issue.

According to CNBC, a November 29 email from Spirit had given Belen Aldecosea a green light to bring the hamster on board.

While control canines have been intermittent flyers for quite a long time, there have as of late been a surge of enthusiastic help creatures. Federal regulations allow them, as long as they are not too big or exotic - but airlines can ask for a doctor's note verifying that the passenger needs the animal.
