UN Commissioner: Human Rights 'Under Broad Assault from Terrorists, Authoritarian Leaders and Populists'

This year, the United Nations has launched campaign in Paris for 70th anniversary of Universal Declaration of human rights that will last till December 10, 2018.

Since 1948, the UDHR has been the foundational document for enumerable worldwide treaties, regional human rights instruments, national constitutions, and is a key component of the global Bill of Human Rights which went into effect in 1976, according to Lowenthal's office. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights empowers us all.

On this day in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris. In his Human Rights Day statement, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein issued a call to all to defend human rights and uphold justice.

Ukraine: Police clash with protesters over Saakashvili
But the two men fell out, and Saakashvili resigned from his post past year , accusing Poroshenko of corruption and blocking reforms.

He also said, "We must organize and mobilize in defence of human decency, in defence of a better common future..."

It is up to us how we fight for the rights.

Human rights law also provides protection in case states don't play by the rules too, and individuals are able to take their cases directly to the Human Rights Court. How can Human Rights exist when weapons are sold legally or illegally, but sold just the same, weapons systems made specifically to murder people and purchased under licence recognized by governments? We must take a robust and determined stand: "by resolutely supporting the human rights of others, we also stand up for our own rights and those of generations to come".

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was a shout across the world by the leading countries in the world, stating loud and clear that no matter where we live, what we believe, or how we love, we are each individually deserving of the most basic fundaments of human needs. Exercising this right significantly allows each of us to have our say every five years, on who governs us.

The white paper claimed the U.S.is a self-styled "human rights judge" who scrutinizes human rights situations in other countries.

How can Human Rights exist when Humans do not even dignify themselves by destroying the planet, insulting Mother Nature, ruining the Earth, polluting space, the skies, the land and the seas, dessecrating its forests, burning down trees murdering their inhabitants, dropping bins of toxic waste to the depths of the ocean without any respect for the creatures living there, and murdering countless species of animals before they are even encountered? Let's stand up for equality, justice and human dignity.

They have crucially given us many privileges and today is a day to celebrate that.
