Garrison Keillor: 'I put my hand on a woman's bare back'

A Prairie Home Companion's Garrison Keillor says he's been fired over alleged improper behaviour

In an expanded statement, MPR clarified that the allegations claim misconduct during Keillor's tenure as host of Prairie Home Companion and that "a special Board committee was appointed to provide oversight and ongoing counsel".

Garrison Keillor, creator of the hugely popular American radio show A Prairie Home Companion, was sacked on Wednesday over an accusation of "inappropriate behaviour".

In an email to MPR's news boss Wednesday afternoon, Keillor wrote, "I think the country is in the grip of a mania - the whole Franken business is an absurdity - and I wish someone [would] resist it, but I expect MPR to look out for itself, and meanwhile I feel awfully lucky to have hung on for so long".

Keillor told The Associated Press in an email Thursday evening that one person had brought a claim against MPR and one person had brought a claim against him. He writes that he thought they were friends until he got a call from her lawyer.

The Deliveries app is another one that doesn't receive push notifications and instead delivers them locally from itself. On the accessibility front, iOS 11.2 adds support for real-time-text phone calls for the deaf and hard of hearing.

KEILLOR: It's the birthday of Bronson Alcott, 1799, and also the birthday of his daughter.

In fact, in a twist of jaw-dropping timing, his latest piece came out just yesterday in the Washington Post and is titled "Al Franken should resign?"

"If I had a dollar for every woman who asked to take a selfie with me and who slipped an arm around me and let it drift down below the beltline, I'd have at least a hundred dollars", the radio presenter said.

"Garrison Keillor has been an important part of the growth and success of MPR, and all of us in the MPR community are saddened by these circumstances", MPR president Jon McTaggart said in the statement released today.

IDF bombs Gaza terror targets in response to mortar fire
The IDF spokesperson on Thursday afternoon announced that Israeli forces attacked four terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip. The IDF claims it is retaliation for a mortar shelling of an Israeli outpost by another militant group.

"So this is poetic irony of a high order". A statement from MPR said that the firing was due to allegations of sexual misconduct against Keillor from a co-worker.

Mortman noted that Keillor spoke at the Press Club in Washington, D.C., in 1994.

In the light of the recent allegations against Mr Keillor, we will be offering any ticket holders who would prefer not to attend the show a full refund, or to exchange tickets for another event.
The crowd was quiet, NPR said. The allegations reportedly involve a female NBC staffer whom Lauer assaulted while they were covering the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

MPR and Keillor began their association in 1969 and launched "Prairie Home" in 1974 with a live broadcast from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, the Star-Tribune said.
